Sorry Dog You Didn't Make the Alabama Quarter

Just saw a news item. The design for the Alabama state quarter has been released. Hard to believe as it may be, they decided to put Hellen Keller on it instead of Dog.

Don't feel bad though Dog, they passed over George Wallace, Ken Stabler and Bear Bryan too.

    Wonder how long before people decry the choice because she was a radical socialist? Of course our history books in school felt it was better to leave that huge part of her life out.

    So when people see it they will say "Who's that?" We got a battleship, a boll wevil, Vulcan, rockets, Damn the torpedos full speed ahead, Mobile Bay, a Confederate Whitehouse, a country music band, a National Champion football team. I sure don't see how Helen Keller is symbolic of ALA.
    Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
