Nicely toned Liberty Nickel

Processing our Long Beach new purchases and came across this beauty of a 1912-s so I thought I'd just show it off. Kind of tough to find original Nickels with this level of color. It's nicer than the scan too.

Mmmm. Nice, indeed. I used to be a "blast-white only" kinda guy, but I've matured. Even at the height of my white-coin mania, that one would have turned my head. Now I seek out such things. Funny how many nice rainbowed Buffaloes one sees, but how few Libnicks. I'm used to gold toning on those.

  • Mark, I think the green stuff is PVC. You better watch your step or I'll sick "The Eye" on you!

That is a good image of the coin you have there. The one on the web site is not as nice(the colors are drained). Your image looks like the color image in the catalog. A pretty coin.

This is the image from the website.

Yikes Jon! I like it, especially that reverse.

You must be like a kid in a candy store going through those new purchases! Tough job, but someone's got to do it.image

    Jon,

Keep "the eye" and hands off of me. Ok, I confess, I love that coin!
  • Cool looking nickel!!!
  • Nice, I would love to get a 1912-S. I have the common date 1883 NC with nice rose toning that is simmilar to this coin.
  • Man that toning would be impressive on any of the common date V-Nickels, but on a 1912-S..............yyyyyyoooooowwwwwwzzzzzzzeeeeerrrrrsssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll give you $5 dollars for it right now??????image
