I went to the coin shop the other day and found a nice XF seated liberty quarter for 5 dollars i knew why it costed so little because it had soder (spelling?) on two parts of the obv. i asked the dealer what happened to it he said that it was used as a clasp on a garment. well i cant turn down a XF seated quarter so i brought it home i used some tongs and held it over a camp fire that we had. All the soder melted off leaving a beautiful XF seated Lib quarter it even darkened the spot under the soder which never got to tone... i sold it back to the dealer for 15 times more than i paid, i made 70 bucks which is alot for me... so i bought a F draped bust half cent from 1804... its the spiked chin variety.

In memory of BL, SM, and KG. 16 and forever young, rest in peace.
I'd say that was a large profit.

I thought it was a great choice that you made upon which to spend your profits. A little horse-trading got you a draped bust half cent for the quarter you needed to fix. Very cool.

Sure with those alien eyes you could do it, but try finding one as an earthling.
