<< <i>These coins aren`t an estate sale on Ebay. They will be from a friend of a friend`s grandpa`s old-time collection out of Tennessee.
Although I can`t give specifics on what coins are there,I want opinions on logical scenarios.

1).Lets say,Face value is $2,500 in all common and worn coinage.Nothing of real collectible value.
What percentage over face would be a fair offer,IF I decided to buy.

    ]Might get an idea here.

2)Mostly common stuff with a few key or semi-key coins. What would a dealer likely ask for these as opposed to what I should ask.
What percentage under bid graysheet do dealers generally use?

    No idea

3)Would useing a Redbook help for finding the value of all the coins for me to buy?

Yes but retail values and probably not up to date but it can at least give you a idea if a coin is valuable or not.

    4) What is the value of a couple of mint bags of uncirc. `71 Ikes bought from some bank way back when
no doubt to get rid of those `space-wasters`as Ikes were pretty unpopular with the general public then
as the SBA and SAC is today.
    Face value?...... >>

    No Idea.

If that was the original question, I would imagine a dealer would make an offer at melt value, and pick through the coins looking for any better stuff. As far as the Ike's, I have no idea. PM Supercoin. That's what I would do. image

Why do you say this? I'm sitting on pounds and pounds of gold and silver that we dug out from under my dad's bed after he died. I can't be the only one this happens to!

i think he means as advertised on EBAY. Most of the people here i think assume the EBAY estate sales are bogus sales pitches.

I've seen a few in the last year. Someone dies, they have coins (ugly, pretty, valuable or not) and BANG instant "estate coin sale".

baaaaahhhh , HUM-BUG. people do NOT actually DIE, & leave coins to their spouses, or whatever! its never happened, & it never will! and if it did happen, the heir would have no sane reason for listing that garbage on ebay, becuase they'll never get top dollar for it!

    whaddya'll yappin' about???

  • hmmmmm....I got some advice here that said selling on ebay is a pretty good idea. Were y'all scamming me?? I think we've dong pretty well with our auctions. I hope we're doing well! Are we doing well?
  • dorkkarldorkkarl Posts: 12,691 ✭✭✭
your doing terrible, & i'll tell you why. nowhere in your auction listings does it mention anything about stuffed kitty-cats or hummingbirds. and you don't even have a picture of any cigarettes. how d'ya expect to do well w/out those description necessities, hmmmm???
