That is the thickest frost I have seen, bar none

and its on a pre-78 coin as well...yeah I know 56 25c are common in cam and dcam, but that is amazing...must be the first coin on a fresh new obverse die.

    Morris, are you forgetting something?!

  • Are you implying that it's undergraded? Should it be a 70? It looks great!! But maybe it's a 69 after all.

Hey- they specialize in that sort of thing. Even though I have moved away from moderns, I still respect a coin like that. Incredible.

That coin even looks better then the picture, I know, it is my coin. I hated to sell it but

life is filled with higher priorities. Who ever wins it, is going to be very happy with it. If ever there

was a first strike, this one is probably it.

I had a total of 6 superb 56 quarters over the years and this was the very finest and the

    last of them . Bear

  • It does look great! It looks frostier than mine. I'd buy all the deeep cameo 1956 coins if I could. Kind of like how Russ hoards those '64 Kennedy Halfs image Of course I feel lucky to be able to own a '56 proof set in 68 deep cameo, except the cent which is 66.

It is a beautiful thing to behold! Parting can be such sweet sorrow with a cameo like that.
  • Carl, is that also nicely toned?

  • Yes my quarter has a little nice album toning. And being in an NGC 68 Ultra holder is cheaper than the one mentioned above. I did have to pay a large premium for my NGC 68 Ultra Dime. But it has super, duper frost. The toning is too much for PCGS though...

Just think Bear: You were only eighteen or so when that quarter was Minted. -Bet you wish you were in as pristine condition!

Braddick - I rather look like one of your own 001 coins . Just the faintest outline of
a person is left and the mearest hint of a date and mintmark. Bear

So frosty I get shivers just looking at it!
  • While we're on the subject of super frosty coins, check this Roosevelt out.

Eventhough a common DCAM, extraordinary obverse frost.

Bear- is this your coin, too?
