Second Opinion?

Hi folks. I would appreciate it if you folks would look at these coins. They are but a minute part of my collection. I had someone give me there opinion on the grading and worth and would like to see if someone else is in agreemanet. NONE OF THESE COINS HAVE BEEN CLEANED OR ALTERED IN ANY WAY. Thanks

The pictures are a tad small to get a good idea of the coins. Also, I would be careful to say that the coins have never been cleaned. Since you did not get them personally from the mint the day they were minted, you cannot possitively know what has happened. All you can really say is that they appear original and that they appear not to have been cleaned.

    Larger pix are better.

The 1898 O Morgan is hard to guage, but good MS grades are common. I'll say MS-64 due to not being able to see the coin in greater detail. A few spots on the obv make me think there are scratches not showing up on the scan
The 1841 25C is harshly cleaned and I would say VF
The 1831 25C looks lightly cleaned on obv to me and I would say EF-45 details
    The 1832 1C looks F-12
    The 1862 1C looks VG-8

agree w/ consensus that the digipic's are to small.

  • Too small to give an accurate opinion. The 1841 does look severely cleaned.

The 41-O Seated Quarter looks cleaned, but that's just an opinion based on the scan. If, after personal inspection I believed it had not been, I'd submit it and let a third-party decide (Anacs would be my choice, as they'd probably net grade it, if the coin is as it appears in the scan).

  • First you ask for opinions and then bash the forum for their opinions because you do not agree. Now you ask for opinions again trying to tell us none have been cleaned?

Why don't you submit them for grading to NGC or PCGS and then we will all know the truth.

Or you could send them to ACG and prove us all wrongimage
