Ebay excuse number 330

I'm sorry I'm tardy on this payment. I had to go out of town on family emergency and didn't have access to a computer or email.

My auction ended in July. Now September. A quick search shows 86 auction wins in the past 30 days. I stopped adding when I got to $1700.00. That was on page 4. My auctions don't show in this tally. A meer $20.00.image

Yes i have written back. I explained to the buyer that while out of town someone ran up a large number of auction wins. Suggested he notify about the fruad.image
BTW as I was running over the "fictious" wins I noticed more than a few sellers from the board.

Here is my reply to the bidder:

Hi XXXX
Sorry to hear about your family emergency. I understand not having access to the web, it's hard sometimes. I feel that you should know(you may already be aware) that in the past month there has been heavy activity on your buyer account 86 auction wins. You might want to let ebay know that someone has been using your account to safe guard your self. Seems someone has bid over $1700.00 worth of coins. Geez, I cannot even imagine.

BTW I know a few of those 86 sellers whom those wins are with. I have made a general posting about your issue, and would be glad to help you sort through them.

Ok so I know three from the boards, but have dealt with about 10 more. Bluemoon coins was even in there, along with billings13

LOL

  • Does this mean you want your twenty bucks now? I already mailed the check, you mean you havn't gotten it??? Must be lost, I'll send you another as soon as the bus gets unstuck from the snow and I can buy more stamps as long as the post office is open when I am off work because I waited in line my whole lunch break today and had to go back to work before I got up to the window so it will be Sat before I can get there, and then I will go home and write the check and wait on the bus to bring me back to the post office the next weekend to mail it because a firetruck ran over my mail box the other day. Hey, I'll bet thats what happened to that first money order I sent you.

no no no, that was excuse #329.image
I know how difficult writting on a bus can be! Wait that's riding. Those freak snow storms in August are great aren't they? It's a warm 103 out today, with 6 inches on the ground! LOL

Haahaimage I had a buyer give me the run around 1 time. After he paid me I emailed him and said "Mailed your coin. Weird thing, the money order issue date was 4 days after you last told me you mailed it." I didn't make a big deal over it. Was glad you get my $400 even though it took 3 weeks. image
My excuse is "Hi. I work out of town in the construction biz so it may take me a day or 3 to get by the bank to get cash to take to the Post Office to buy a Money Order." True excuse too.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Things that make you go HMMMMMMM.........
Isn't it strange that most of the time when payments get lost in the mail, it is usually being sent by someone with a low feedback rating and some negs? I can't remember ever having someone with a high positive feedback rating stiffing me on an auction payment.

  • I don't mind excuses at all. Really. Ya'know, life. It happens. This guy makes me laugh tho. If it's true, he's hurtin. However, as you see by me posting this, I don't fully buy itimage All i was trying to do is recover Final Value fees. Now I have to go to the post office? Gawd. Print a mailing label??? I just installed a new operating system, and haven't installed my printer... Geez now I have to look for the driver disc. I've been putting that off. What a pain.

Stand in line? Awe man!!! What a hassle. I don't even know why...image Oh, and postage, I have to come up with that too??? Maybe I will just depost the paypal into the bank account, and wait a few days!!! Maybe the kids will find the driver disc. Heyyyyy, this almost sounds like a plan! But still that line. The postal carries don't pick up mail here anymore due to the mail box being broken into twice, and hit by a car once? Memo to self: Never realized how uptite people get in a retirement community. What a hassle. I have to leave the house...i dunt wanna

  • Now what's really strange is having a numbering system for buyer's excuses.image

    Danarchy,

Sounds like it might have been worth the $20 just to hear his final response. BTW, what was that final response?

    GSAGUY

P.S. I've had a few guys never pay for auctions but instead of posting a neg I just dropped it. Wasn't worth the possible neg from the.

  • GSA, That was basically my intention. I was just days away from the credit, and I got paid.image No I didn't really want him to pay. Didn't want to deal with. Just relist em.

It is very early/late here, and have yet to get a reply from my e-mail. It will be shared asap(if ever)

  • My favorite E-bay excuse:

"I'm sorry but my available funds do not allow me to complete this purchase at this time. Thank you for the opportunity to bid".

idiot with +6 feedback (14 purchases in 2 days for $1200)

    duhhhh
"spare change? Nahhhhh...never have any...sold it all on E-bay..."
see? My Auctions "Got any 1800's gold?"

Buy the coin...but be sure to pay for it.
  • I was doing a great deal of business on ebay but it got too frustrating. It just seemed like after 3 months of heavy selling, suddenly I was hit with a rash of people who never sent payment.

-One guy never sent payment but positive responses continued to flow in. I checked his previous auction and found someone who i had dealt with in the past. That person called him up and they sent payment for their auction. I emailed the person to say "I understand you just paid for an auction but I still have not received your payment"... no response. I just gave a neg and reported him as a NPB.

-One person said they mailed payment... a week later I told them I had not received payment, they told me to contact them in a week if payment had not been received... contacted them in a week and they told me it would go out right away. I kept asking "Did you send a check or money order"... they never answered the question, never received the payment. I tried to give them a NPB and they were already NARU'ed

-but nothing beats the first or second auction I bid on. It was for a "New and Unopened" travel crib. I received the item, opened it up and it had scratches, it had paint on it, you could tell the mattress was slept on, I contacted the seller and they said "it must have been damaged during shipping"... I reported this to EBAY, I reported it to PAYPAL... no one did squat!!!!

I wish Ebay did more policing of their site...
