I layeth The smack down! Someone call for help!!

The opponent threw out an 8 of spades. My partner topped it with a 10 of spade. The opponent's partner threw out the Jack of Spades with a grin on his face. I backed up from the table and stood up. As I went to slam down my card, all I heard was, "Noooooooooooooooo!!!!! He has the BIG JOKER!!!!!!!!!".

Here is the steal of the century.

I'll explain in a response.

  • The BIG JOKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sweet snipe, auto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Here were the selling prices:

    Roy Campanella SP/7 - $150 dlvd
    Hack Wilson SP/8 - $108 dlvd
    Hank Greenberg SP/13 - $103 dlvd
    Preacher Roe SP/19 - $75 dlvd
    Pee Wee Reese SP/20 - $58 dlvd

and I got Tommy John Patch SP/15 for $15.52 + shipping.

That has to be the snipe of the century. And when I mean Big Joker, I had a $71.51 snipe on it. The seller didn't put "Classic Cuts", "Game Used", or "SP/15" in his title. Neither did he mention SP/15 in his description. I knew it was a true patch because he included the number #TJ-P (as in "P" for Patch). I got the Jersey SP/55 which is TJ-J.

nice pick up but there was no one at the table!! LOL It looks like everyone forget to show up for the
end of the auction! I could of beaten your 5 second snipe with a stop watch and a fast finger!

This was a piece of the mssing link on your set wasn't it? nice pick up!

  • Sweet. This seller could have made like $100 more if he would have wrote down the right things.
  • Always nice to find those lazy sellers that don't give a full description. I've found 3 color patches for under 4 bucks because the seller just says patch in the title.

hehe lots always sell for cheap. My Bonds GU'ed Lot sold for $125 (BV: $405). People usually on bid what they would pay for in the lot. The rest would just be extras.
  • Hmph... well if you had a $75 bid on it I sure wouldn't have won it image

  • Hey, just wondering but is it possible it could be a pants card...? There is a Ted Williams CC Pants card numbered TW-P..Maybe there was a pinstripe and the guy considered that a patch..? Just a thought
