what design would be great to see.A clad version of the SLQ series?Back to the prior Washington design?
Maybe a dead president that hasn`t been on a coin yet.But which one and why.Better yet,a new Liberty
design?
I know its a ways off till this happens but what are your thoughts on a new look for the US 25c after 2008 or 2009.

IF there is a resurgence in putting new dead guys on the coins, who stands pure enough to do so? Carter? Nixon? Kennedy?
I would have no problems with seeing a new generation of SLQ's.

Maybe on a circulating 5.00 piece.
My only problem with the old design is the mint would "rework it" and butcher the design. Similiar to the artist who submit for the state quarter designs and complain about the liberties the mint takes with the design. Even a "Liberty" (i.e. flowing hair, standing, walking) would be nice to see.

When did Carter die? Must have missed that

The half I am getting rid of and me, forever and always Taken in about 1959
No real people (especially dead presidents, these belong on comm halves or dollars if anything)
No repeat designs, I loved the originals, don't ruin them by making clad versions
Some image of Liberty would do great
I doubt if the mint will listen to me, but at least I could air my request here.
A more contemporary message might be something like air superiority. We could have B-2 bombers, stealth fighters etc. gracing our coins
One relic of the past that never made onto regular coins that I think is 200 years overdue is the motte "Liberty parent of science and industry." Very prescient for 1792.

I'm with you -- I'd like to see a return to an image of Liberty, but not a recycling of any "classic" designs. Leave them in the past.
There must be plenty of great sculptors in the US today who can make a compelling coin design. The US Mint needs to find and recruit them into designing new coins. The coins should be designed with artistry and history in mind, and not to please any committee or special interest group. No real people (living or dead), no repeats. New classics.

It would be nice to see various designs of Liberty for the dime, quarter and half. The dead guys have been honored it is time to move on.

But I still stand by my statement that the mint engravers should do an employee exchange with countries that have cool coinage!
For some life lasts a short while, but the memories it holds last forever.
