    Thank you VERY MUCH

Tell me guys/girls, what do you think about the set up? Did I miss something? Let me know so I can correc it on the next one.

  • I hope you don't mind me pointing this out, but in "payment instructions" you tried using HTML. (<b></b> <u></u&gtimage It looks a little strange, that's all.

Good pictures and the description is straight to the point. If I collected these I would consider buying from you.

You should have added some heavy metal music and dancing chickens. OH. And that little thing that follows the arrow around saying something like,"Buy Me Now".
  • Maybe a bit larger pics, but very simple, straight to the point, just the way I like them. Nice setup Ray, good luck
  • Nice write up and very nice pictures, Ray. I don't collect them, but I helped bump the price up a little by bidding against the high bidder. That was fun. image

    Looks good Ray.

Just for clarification - if you don't except checks, doesn't that mean that you accept themimage?

Ditto on larger pics and I really like those like yours that concentrate on the coin and not the slab.

    Good job, Dave
  • Hey Bobz, you said Ray and Virgin in the same sentence! image

If you hadn't said so, I'd never had known that is your first shot. Looks better then half the "power sellers" on eBay.

    Russ, NCNE
  • He'd have slammed *me* for that shot. image

Just kidding. well - no, actually I'm not.

It's still a nice pic. Good job! image
  • Looks good to me -- my only suggestion is to include your shipping costs in your main auction description instead of just at the bottom. If I don't see it "front and center" I generally assume the worst. image

Also, a real low reserve probably isn't worth the extra listing fee... might as well start it at 1 cent and let 'er ride. Good luck!
  • No "L@@K" in the title...check.
No stories about estates in the description...check.

Looks good to me. Might help if you state the exact shipping costs in the description.

    Oh, forgot to add:

Not an auction for a Mercury dime...check.

Oh, and you might want to put a link to it in your signature.

LOL, can you believe I had a bid retracted on my very first auction...lol. Not to worry the bidder contacted me first and explained the situation. It seems he was bidding from his watch page and clicked on the wrong auction to bid on it. When he did the coin that he was supposed to bid on would have brought a higher price so he WOULD have won this coin no matter who sniped if you catch my drift...lol.

Well, I wanted to say, thank you all very much for your bids and for looking into my auction. I would also like to thank thopse of you that helped with corrections. Finally, I would like to thank Danarchy for his help with the picture.

I'm going to put up a few more soon, be sure to check them out.

    Have a wonderful week,

Very nice auction. The items that stood out for me (as already mentioned by others) in order of importance to me are:

    1. No picture of slab or at least slab #
    2. Why a reserve at such a low price
    3. Spelling
Good luck with this and all your future auctions. (You almost hit the jackpot with that "misplaced" decimal bid)

    Joe.

Uncle Joe and others, allow me to elaborate on your questions (I'm glad you asked as I might not have answered the others as I made corrections but forgot to explain to the others...)

    1. I did not see a need for the slab picture, I am not trying to sell the slab nor the slab number, I am trying to sell the coin. I know this is not the norm as many people hype the slab to sell the coin. What difference does it make to include the slab info? I did say you will recieve the coin below and I did mention the grade. I figured this would cover the slab info. Also, why would the slab number be needed except by the winner of the auction? (Please educate me here, I am not trying to be rude, I want to learn and this is the best way) image

    2. My reserve was set at 7 dollars. The reason, I reciently purchased a PCGS slab from a forum member that had little Sales on Ebay, I won his slab for less than three dollars. I felt bad and sent him 6 dollars for the slab...lol. It was just new seller wearyness...lol. Fear of my auction only moving to a few dollars.

    3. Spelling: What can I say, I'm a bit weak in this area as most of you know. I did however take precautions and typed it on a word document first...However, the spell check did not catch the contect of the sentence (Not sure it can do that...lol) As for the HTML code in the shipping area...Well, that was just plain ignorance, I did not know the codes could not be used in there.

Thanks for the questions and PLEASE keep them comming, I want to learn the most I can. I can take constructive critisizm well (At least I try to...lol) and if you feel bad about sending in the open forum, please PM me with your concerns.

    Ray

The reason for a picture of the slab is to ensure that the coin I receive is the one in the picture.

You may not be selling the slab but I or others may be buying it. In addition, many auctions use stock pictures and I want to be sure I get the coin that is pictured. As you have probably read in many threads not all coins graded the same are the same.

    Joe.
  • if i was into slabbed lincolns, i would have bid on you auction because:

    you didn't yell
    you didn't say l@@k
and you got to the point!!!

  • again Ray good job. NO_HYPE huh???image I like the red RD too.

While working with Ray yesterday, the pics were an issue. I don't know if this has changed recently, but...With AOL as a photo host, pics often take long to load, if they do at all. Could spend the extra $.25 for inlarged pictures, but with a $7.00 reserve... I also agree that the auction is for a cent, however, it is a pcgs coin. The slab is why you are getting $12.00 for a cent. I didn't like the idea of putting the certs up in the picture, however this is really a safeguard for you. The cert shows that your bidder rec;d the coin pictured...

Keep at it! Before too long you be able to afford something silverimage
