USPS Priority flat rate is a little over $4. Guess Russ needs to pay for the time it took to get the halves out.

No, it probably costs more. There are 14 sets.

Up to 1 pound, with no insurance. This many sets, with packaging, comes to over 3 lbs. I will lose money on the shipping.

Not a bad listing but why not jazz it up like all the others:

" I'm not a proof set expert but you will receive all of of these proof error sets! Imagine the odds of receiving proofs sets directly ,from the mint, which are all missing the half dollar."

Have you asked Bear? Personally, cute and cuddly bears make me hungry for steak, but might work on Russ image

No idea what that means, but my guess is that it has nothing to do with Priority Mail, which is how I ship boxes.

EDIT: Wait a minute, that makes no sense at all. If I show up at the post office with a 50 lb box and tell them I want to ship it for $4, they'd laugh me out of the building.

Guess the Flat Rate is only the flat mailer, your proof sets probably will not fit.

    Below from the USPS.

    Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope

$3.85, regardless of weight or destination, for matter sent in a Priority Mail Flat Rate envelope provided by the Postal Service.

I really don't think I'd try to stuff 14 sets in a flimsy envelope with no insurance. I prefer it when the stuff I ship actually makes it to the destination without being destroyed along the way.

The point is that I never over-charge for shipping, whether it be eBay or my business. I don't gouge customers.

Russ, I didn't know it was only the envelopes, I thought it was also the boxes. (which is why I brought it up). As a side note, it is only modern proof stuff, so no real harm in destroying it.image

dude, you should have said that they originally came from an old lady on ebay who was dumping her husband's estate!!!

  • The hoard now resides in my grubby little hands!

The 2002 Silver sets (2) and the 1992 Premier Silver set have some awsome DCAM coins.

For those of you who had your doubts about the shipping costs:
Russ packed the sets in a box with peanuts. Then, that box was placed in a larger box, packed in bubble-wrap.
It was shipped Priority, with insurance... total cost $11.65. He charged me $7.15. You do the math!

Plus, he threw in an extra 2002 Silver set!

I'm considering leaving him positive feedback. image
