I saw that one. They also had a franklin half, I think. I wish I had recorded it so I can see more carefully what she plunked down for the flowers. I wonder what the date on the cent *really* was!

For the `43?.I knew it was a large sum. That sounds right.
I did see the one of the old famous upside-down bi-plane stamp.
Havent seen the Franklin Half one yet.
Remember awhile back(2001),one went for $69,000??(reading from old graysheet)
    Maybe its that coin?
  • Yeah I've noticed the commercial a few times too. I thought the price they showed was $83,000, but it very well could have been $82,000--It was one of those. Next time I see it, I'll let ya know.

  • Saw it. First thought was the lady's father had just died and she was spending the old coins she found in his closet. She probably couldn't understand why he kept them in those funny cardboard holders with plastic windows. image
Buy the coin...but be sure to pay for it.

Those commercials really disturb me. To me, it sends the message that Lexus owners are stupid and profligate.

Maybe I feel that was because I drive one.

Or maybe I feel that way because I am. image

  • If she sold the 1943 copper cent, she still couldn't afford a Lexus, could she?
  • Not if she sold it to a dealer.
  • Yeah it is $82,000 I saw the ad about 4 times today. They run it on CNBC all day.

BNE--I'm sorry you drive a Lexusimage You'd be better off with the penny (or a German importimage)
