Estate or no, I find it hard to believe that a coin with that much value would not have made it's way to a grading service at some point in the past.

cost was 1100 + 50 (s&h) + 150(repair estimate) = 1300, ask = 1800, that is only 38% profit, NOT 150%. NOT outrageous in this old collectors humble opinoin.

i was using his buy it now price - so it's probably more like trying for 100% profit. and i still wish him luck.

Is it possible that big _ _ _ dent under the date is where it was plugged (Image w/o slab). If so, can't see how he can claim you can't see with a loupe.

I guess that is supposed to be the before repair photo. I guess if the guy used some punctuation OR more probably, I should have just not even bothered to comment, I might not have been confused.

Actually... look at the middle of the 9, just to the left, and you can see a small circle... i think that is the plug
