Need toning name.

I have a coin where the toning starts in the middle. Opposite of bullseye toning. Is there a name for it?

How about, "Retarded owners Artificially toned Piece of crap, no one wants, don't have a name for, loser, cheater in posts, toning"image

I think that would fit your coin well.

    Ray

Or go with the eyesllub...that will work too.

Edited to add the smiley as it was brougth to my attention that the words I wrote could have been misstook for something harsh...

Anyone see Goldenmember, when he kept saying Mole...Mooole, Mole....

Everytime I see lw, I want to say...cheater...cheater....cheater...in the same monotone...image

But in no way am I exagerating or benting the truth, I tell it like it is, call it like I see it.

    Thanks for your correction,
    Ray

No, it's in a PCGS holder. It's natural.

How about negative bullseye? Or center-toned?

I don't think anyone is going to mistake the intent of your post, with our without the smiley...

I'm still looking around for a quality digital camera. If no one knows what it's called, I'm going to name it! "Wich's Toning" Please start addressing coins that have toning that starts in the middle as Wich's Toning.imageimage

Just use your scanner. We're not that picky.

Some numismatists use "target toning" or "cabinet toning" as adjectives.

Small cents - ain't they beautiful!
  • Wouldn't it be "pupil toning"?image

  • Nope. The iris is the colored part or your eye, so that's what I was refering to.

I even looked it up to double check after you said that in case I goofed it up. image

it's very unusual to see the colors reversed, does not necessarily sound legit. it would mean the center of the coin was in contact with whatever reacted to cause the toning, while the edges were free. are you sure it''s original tone???

That wouldn't work, stockwiz... ACG only trademarked one of their words, and that expired a while ago... he'd just have to pretend it was TM

This type of toning is done by putting a small pin hole in the center of the envelope or celephane wrap that the coin is in. This way, the only outside air/chemical/Artificial toning process...hits the coin through the hole, and in the middle of the coin.

    Mole....Mooooole.....Mole....Moley, moley, moley.......MOLE!

  • I finally got a scan of the coin. It's not the best picture, because I have a piece of crap scanner. I'm going to get a new scanner some time in the future.

  • Does it look something like this:

    Stained 1999

Around these parts, we call that a stain.
