Just got myself a Leather and Lumber GU-ball card of Ichiro #'d/50 from 2002 Studio. Yes I'm happy

Considering that it doesn't really fit into my personal collection and that I could use some cash, I'm willing to entertain cash offers for it. I think $125 shipped/insured would be a fair asking price and would let go of it to the first offer of that amount. LMK

OK I don't know exactly what's going on here, but the card doesn't even book yet so the market's probably weird or something. I looked at the seller of the auction and he's new and people don't go ballz-out on auctions from new sellers... plain fact. Not to mention the 2001 Playoff Absolute Boss Hoggs of Ichiro (also #'d/50) books for $600, so I don't think $250-300 BV for a second-year version is too unreasonable to anticipate. So my price stands.

There are 2 versions...2 pieces of ball or 1. Which one do you have? If you have the single version then it looks like to goes for 30 to 60.00 on ebay and if its the 2 piece it goes for 40.00 to 80.00.

As far as it being worth half as much as last years playoff version...that was his rookie year and the pack prices are most liklely triple of what the 2002 studio. Also you need to look at other cards of ichiros #/50 in his 2nd year to see what they are going for. Not as much as you think. I would value it at 125.00.

Yep... got the card because I thought it was severely undervalued at $33. There's UD GU of Ichiro that's nowhere near short-printed that are booking at $80-120. If anybody wants to try to get the card for cheap, good luck

BTW to clarify I changed "pull" (which often connotes getting something out of a pack) to "find" (obtained via other means). I tend to lazily mix them up sometimes... sorry

lol, im guessing it books about $100. second yr cards arent worth a whole lot, i have several second yr gu's of players that are numbered/200 or less and they book about 1/4 of the bv of the sets from the yr before. let alone comparing studio to absolute? big price difference in packs, and odds. hope you feel lucky if you expect $125 for it, it books MAYBE $100 possibly less. (look at my collins ROOKIE #'d/50, only books $25)

hehe.. what's the purpose of the wild stories? Either way makes no difference. I bought a Sean Elliott Final Cut w/ NBA logo for $5+shipping, told everyone, and then relisted it and got $51. Bought a JD Drew patch for $5.99+shipping, everyone knew, sold it on Ebay for $28.50, etc. Doesn't matter how much YOU paid for it. People pay what it is worth to them. Just like if you paid $1 for a few mint 1962 Fleer Fred Williamson RCs, I'd still pay you BV ($25) for them. People always worried about how much others are making off of something and book value.

If buying for resell, you compare what you bought it at vs. what people are paying for it. I only do that with nice patches. Book value may have that patch booking at $25, but because of the nice patch, people are paying $60-$70 for it. In those cases, Book Value is meaningless.

OK... a little egg on my face here... bought the refractor, pulled the Mystery Finest (but after I cooled down a bit, I opened the pack while on the computer, realized I was looking at a nobody refractor and the regular Mystery Finest... should have clarified but didn't

Vince: the people who have traded, bought from me, and sold to me can tell you why it's good to have transactions from me. Everybody got their end quickly and in good condition.

As I said, this time it was just a slip (I mixed the terms)... oddly enough I use "pull" quite often when talking with people IRL about my ebay finds... don't know why, I just do.

With the Webber, I pulled the non-refractor Mystery Finest Webber and another refractor (which I traded to somebody trying to build a master set here in San Diego), bought the refractor pretty soon after I opened the pack and thought I had the refractor of the Webber and prematurely posted that I pulled it (why not have two?).

Does all of this weirdness not look that good? Admittedly, yes. But does that make me a bad trader? Everybody who has dealt with me will give you an unequivocable NO on that one
