What set would you start next?

well if all goes right Ill have all my layaways pd for and my Pcsg pr69dc IKE set done by middle of Oct and want to start a new set to work on I was thinking about trying to run with the big dogs and stay broke for the next year and start this set in MS64 or better 20th Century Gold Type Set - Circulation Strikes (1900-1933). I want your ideas and opinons on this I have about 500-750 to spend per month on coins not counting what I trade around and sell to others to make a little cash. I want something that will go up in value as a investment but also harder to find and I really like the Indians in this set. Thx for the help i know I will receive.

    Joe,
I always like the 3cent nickel series. The proofs are gorgeous and aren't as easy to find as the population reports would indicate. They would be a challenge and a set you could be proud to own.

The 20th century gold type set is beautiful but you might want to consider completing the set in ms 63 and then upgrading in future years. If you try for ms 64 the twenty dollar saint is the only coin you could buy with one months budget. In 63 you should be able to buy a coin a month (possible exception five indian @ $900) and stay within your budget.image
    Good Luck
  • I think your correct I am getting sick of Ramon noodles (hehe) you think im jokeing I will be starting a set of something I alsolike the flying eagles and the 3 cent nickel but something about GOLD just is so evil and trys to take control

    Joe,

I like silver commems (old ones, not the modern ones!). They are affordable, attractive, often have interesting stories and histories and, very important - (to me, at least) they have numerous/different/individual designs. I find them to be much more interesting, set-wise, than sets where all coins are of the same design.

I would love to do a set of $4 Stellas next! image

Perhaps I should rephrase that. .........I would love to do a type set of Stellas! image

Well maybe just one of them would do??????????????? Perhaps a 20 year lay-a-way would be in order?

Coinguy1, You just gave me a good idea. I allways liked those coins.

And like the idea about each one not having the same design.

    thanks,

Mrs bear thinks my next collection should be a set of bank books. I think her exact words were "You old fool , when are you going to save some money , in case we need it to live on". Bear

    Haven't we heard that before?
