Ethics between forum members update - NOT

I just went through a very long sets of message posts about a CC Morgan dollar that appears not to have been graded properly. It reminds me a lot of my old chatroom days where people would take sides and form alliances and opinions to argue against each other. Only back then, the subject matter was about personal relationships and personality problems. I guess this recent discourse involves money so it can get quite testy as well. Anyhow, I don't think I will offer my opinion on the matter because I tend to be wallflower of sorts. I had opened up a bit at the previous chatroom that I used to inhabit for over 12 hours in a day and eventually got burned emotionally by it. Hope you all can get some resolution on the matter.

What would your slabbed coins be worth if the grading services went out of business? What would your coins be worth if the Internet was taken offline for good?

So, can we go back to fighting the old topics again?

    1. PCGS vs NGC (or vs everyone else)
    2. Moderns vs Classics
    3. Rarity
    4. Value purchases
    5. Sight-seen vs sight-unseen
    6. Fav dealers
    7. Least liked dealers
    8. Grading scale
    9. Strike vs wear in grading
    10. Raw vs slabbing

    Anything else?

  • Hmmm. maybe. But you have to look at the topic with respect to its financial implications. Had the coin been a common DMPL such as 1901-O Morgan, then I don't think a big stink about its value (or grade) would have raised an eyebrow. It is when a high premium between grades is involved when the disputed transaction becomes a big news item.
