What about a search team?

How about this.

One person serching for a coin will hit maybe 5 sites, and finalize on whatever they can find. Or go with the person they have delt with in the past reguardless of the price.

What if, say 10 of us got together say, every Sunday morning 1100 hours Eastern Standard Time. One person would step forward that is "READY" to buy a coin at the best price they could find.

The 10 of us then go about our normal search patern to find the best possible deal, be it internet, our connections, local coin shop, news adds, coin shows whatever...

We then all meet back the next Sunday with our findings and the person yay or nays the coin, we then chose another coin and move on from there, every Sunday (Or whatever day) change the coin.

There are many other points that I can think of but a common ground of say the chat room every Sunday at 1100 is something that we could all work with, that way, we do not have to PM every person back and forth or have to find the thread.

Also, each coin/week we should start a different thread so people can follow our progress, help out or if we find something that can't wait until Sunday.

We can learn alot from this activity and all have fun doing it.

What do you say? Anyone interested?

Ray

  • Sounds very cool. I presume you mean a virtual meeting though as this message board spams multiple nations.

Also, what if the coin being looked for is a Pop 1-3 and the price isn't as much of an issue as the fact that a seller needs to be rounded up?

Anyway, it sounds cool to me.

    I'm in!
Find me a PCGS (or, even NGC) AG03 Franklin and I'll pay $100.00. Make it a FA02 and I'll pay $150.00. Search and find me a PO01 and I'll pay $250.00!
Whatever price you negotiate, the balance is yours.

"this message board spams multiple nations" I know you meant "spans" but "spams" makes for an interesting Freudian slip.

  • cladmaker,

    Excellent point.

To solve that all that would need to be done is email/call the orderer immediately upon the find of the item.
