I don't know if you guys talked about this....

...But while I was Boston for a couple days my mom said that she was listening to the radio and the guys were saying that Barry Bonds was talking about how his 73 homers were overshadowed by September Eleventh. And that he thought tht his 600th homer was overshadowed by Strike talks. Is this true? Cause if it is then I have no doubt that this guy is the biggest jerk of all time.

If that's true, then he's definitely the biggest ass in the history of baseball. Talk about being arrogant...this is OVERSHADOWS arrogance.

I also remember him saying something about the strike as well...he said...

"If we go on strike...then fans will come back!"

Talk about being a major idiot...he actually has another thing coming if they went on strike. When the high attendance for each game is about 9,000...then he'll be wondering about that.
  • LOL. Yup. Last year he was talking about how his team making the postseason is more important than his homers. Yet, in a Brewers game, he hit a ball, did his homerun jig, and it doesn't go out of the park. And since he did his homerun dance he got a single. If he hadn't danced he would have had atleast a double. This guy is a discrace to the game.
  • I have to respectfully disagree with everybody on this one. I'll agree he might not be the most gracious, humble, non-hypocritical guy out there, and if he ran out everything he might pull out quite a few more extra bases. He might not be the best at dealing with his successes. But who ever said he had to be a role model? He plays a game (albeit for big money) and happens to excel at several aspects of it, he doesn't spit at umps, he doesn't flip off fans, and he doesn't committ any crimes (well, there's the steroid issue that applies to lots of MLB players, but that's a somewhat different problem). There's no perfect-morality clause in a baseball contract, so I don't think it should be expected of him. If somebody wants a role model, that person should generally be looking outside of the realm of celebrity image
