A BINION IN ACG PLASTIC

It was bound to happen. Our friends in Fla are crossing Binions. And at a tidy sum, I would imagine.

BINION OVERGRADE

Yep, looks like a 10 point overgrade...in true ACG fashion!

But they're not telling you that this isn't from the Binion collection from Nevada. This is from Timmy Binion, who lives in Hoboken, NJ. He's been collecting since age 5, and he's 8-1/2 now. You should see his baseball cards! image

    Petescorner,
I'll bet you're right! Hmmmm...I wonder if they'll take a check from The Bank of Bob and Ray?

What was the title of this thread? A bunion wrapped in a plaster?

Doesn't look anything like a Binion coin.

That's the second one I've seen. The last was one I posted here-it had a BIN and sold for $79 or something like that. I would like to have one just for fun but not @ that price.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

So what grade do you all think it really is? The hair looks like it has some wear, but could that be just a weak O-mint strike or the lighting? There also doesn't seem to be much in the way of feathers on the eagle's breast either. But again, that could be the light, couldn't it? If this same photo had been posted here without any other information, including the slab, what would be the grade consensus among the forum members?
  • Boy, that's a tough call, Claw. That is such a poor scan I'd hate to say one way or another.

True, but there's usually a few opinions being ventured anyway. I'm always hesitant because I'm usually wrong about grade.
  • I'd give em $9.99 for it them just crack it out, I don't have that date yet in my O mint Morgan collection.

You crack me up Mike. That's probably a 63/64 worth about $35. In the original Binion holder, about $80. You should email him with your offer. LOL. This is the third auction on ebay for an ACG Binion I've seen and all by billings13. I guess we'll never know if it's really a Binion Dollar or not but you know it's not MS-66.
  • It's been relisted and the opening bid is just that $9.99 with no one bidding so far.

I was about to bid again just to liberate the poor thing from that holder, but noticed the shipping is $8.50.
  • $8.50 shipping!?! that's a joke.

Speaking of Ted Binion,Did anyone see that DATELINE thing called Casino. Was Ted murdered or was it suicide.
I think it was the latter. He was a herion addict for 20+ years.Waht do you think.
  • All I can say is that this is a truly beautiful Morgan fully deserving of its lofty MS-66 grade. In fact, I dare say this may upgrade more than a few points with some of the more lenient grading services (PCGS, NGC...). Clean fields, original amber toning, excellent eye appeal! A bargain at $250. Bid now!

You're probably right, AcgDealer, but the shipping is too high.
  • If it i such a great deal, you buy the coin! I am willing to let you reap the gigantic profits from purchasing and then selling to some other unknowning collector. image

What would your slabbed coins be worth if the grading services went out of business? What would your coins be worth if the Internet was taken offline for good?
  • I think I'll have to just be satisfied with my overgraded Redfield 1882-S in a Paramount 65 holder.

Thanks MacCoin! Except that when I'm slabbed, it'll be as a "P-01!"

I wonder what NGC position on this "pedigreed" slab is? Didn't they get an exclusive deal to encapsulate the "Binion Collection?"
