Who's gonna win the SB, WS, and NBA Finals???

MLB- NY Yankees or Atl. Braves, no team has shown that the can beat the Yankees. No other team(except Braves) has as much playoff experience than this group. The Braves are under rated this year, they only have two problems getting to the W.S and the NY Yankees.

NFL- Tough one, 49ers or Colts. If the Colts can stay healthy, and James is back to his old self, they can outscore anyone. But with no D, you can't win, but Dungy will eventually change that.

NBA- I know most of you will say LA Lakers, but....
Mavericks or Kings. Mavs are definite sleepers in the tough West. No one in the East has what it takes to post up with the big guys(Garnett, Shaq, Duncan, or Webber).

Whodaya think and why.

  • well NFL ya never know, i mean, the last three superbouls did people really think those 3 teams would win
  • MLB- Yankee's...
with Soriano being great and the new addition Jason Giambi... so Yankees vs. Braves, the Braves could win, I hope they do

    NBA- Lakers...
again... the Mavs could beat them if they get Rashard Lewis... but I think its like the Bulls used to be

    NFL-
tough one... Rams or Raiders... I believe Rams... with Faulk coming back, Warner will good thumb, and Holt with more experience will explode this offense again

    Anyway, Here's my picks:

MLB-Yanks or M's, Braves will probably make it and could beat the M's, but they don't experienced starters on their pitching staff, besides Glavine and Maddux.

    NFL-Rams

    NBA-Lakers

    NHL-Dallas.....errrr no goalie, Colorado.

    WHO CARES
  • Thito- The eagles, got Levon Kirkland (he's huge), and also spent there first round pick on a CB Lito Sheppard who adds depth to there already good secondary... Plus people coming back from injuries, and you cant forget about the players getting better in the offseason... I was watching NFL 2 Night and it was going into training with McNabb and he has been working very hard, on his balance and cordination and all that stuff...
As for the Raiders- haha, when are the gonna get younger, Al Davis is the worst owner I've seen.... You go into the offseason and pick up Romanowski and Parallela (however it is), that's not getting younger that's getting older.. then you trade one of the best and youngest head coaches away... But they do have nice CB's in Buchanon and Woodson

As for the NFL- thats hard, Washington should be good, they have a killer LB core and excellent CB's and a good D-cord, but they dont really have an O, It will depend how well their QB is and the WR's are... I've heard that Jacquez Green has looked good so far playing under Spurrier again..

The Rams are back again and with Faulk signed for his career
The Colts are looking good, with DA EDGE back and healthy and looking good..

    Should be a fun season...

    Go Chiefs...

Gruden was going to leave after this season anyways, so at least they got something for him. And having 4 picks in the first 2 rounds is helping the Raiders get younger. No need to be a jealous Chief fan image

the Eagles are extremely overrated... u are very correct about Kirkland and the fact that he's HUGE - but the truth is he's too huge... which is the reason the Seahawks released him... he weighed 306 so they sent him to a very highly regarded weight training center to lose some of the pounds... seeing that he gained 4 and came back weighing 310 - i think u can understand why he was cut... 310 is not a LB weight and i'd love to see his fat a$$ chase some of these RB's and TE's around... Sheppard is unproven... he's a rookie with no NFL experience - who knows what he'll do... every team has people returning from injuries... i saw the same NFL2Night about McNabb and i don't care what anyone says, but that man is OVERRATED... he's developing nicely, but the fact is he doesn't have a great arm... he's not a pocket passer even though the Eagles are trying to make him one... he makes very stupid decisions on the field and if it wasn't for his rushing or leadership abilities, he'd be horrible... i'm not saying he's bad, because he's very good, but i still think he's overrated... u can ask a lot of Eagles fans if they're sold on McNabb, and i'll bet you'll hear a lot of no's... he still has a LOT of improving to do before the Eagles do anything in this league... anything less than a superbowl would be considered a disappointment this year, and the way i see it is the Eagles won't even win the divison... they have a very hard schedule and my Skins are gonna surprise a lot of people this year... say what u will, but mark my words...

i think the Raiders look fine... Al Davis is not a bad owner at all... he has a passion for winning and if that makes him a bad owner, then i'd hate to see who u think is good... haha, and please don't say Art Modell... he IS the worst... i see the 2002 Raiders having a great season... i don't predict superbowl for them, but i see them being a playoff contender... and trading Gruden was as smart as u can get... they completely made out with that trade... how many draft picks did they get? 4? 2- 1st rounders and 2- 2nd rounders? lol... all that for an average coach who hasn't won anything in the NFL and was headed out the door the very next season anyways... at least they got something for him before he left... and not only something, but 4 GREAT draft picks to build the franchise around...

    imageimageimageimageimage
  • McNabb is overrated because he has average WR's and a good but not great RB?? He had like 70% (something like that) of the Eagles offense one year.. During the Playoffs, the Bears strong D couldn't stop him.. They even had Urlacher spying on him... I dunno who you would rate ahead of him.. Manning, yes, but look at who one of his WR is- Marvin Harrison (I heard if you looked at his stats from when he 1st came in here, he has been the best WR in football), Kurt Warner, yes, but he has Marshall Faulk and Bruce and Holt, Culpepper, I dunno, but he has Moss and had Carter... I dunno who you would say the Eagles have to help McNabb out of that caliber...

Yes your Redskins might do good, but they have no proven QB... I got to play with Sage Rosenfels at a camp and he couldnt even get me the ball he would always overthrow it (haha)....

The eagles have been in playoff's all of 2000's, and most of 1990's. They stepped up on O with levens and freeman(even though i hate the packers). first of all, fu^k u... do not call me a moron for stating facts and exposing your Eagles for the overrated team they are... shows what i know, huh? aight... well for one, try telling me reasons the Eagles are gonna be good besides just naming sorry free agents they managed to sign in the offseason... haha and u wanna compare players? here's just some of the 'nobodies' u say the Skins have...

    Jesse Armstead
    LaVar Arrington
    Champ Bailey
    Stephen Davis
    Daryl Gardener
    Rod Gardner
    Darrell Green
    Jacquez Green
    Jon Jansen
    Chris Samuels
    Sam Shade
    Bruce Smith
    Fred Smoot
    Jeremiah Trotter
    Dan Wilkinson
    Renaldo Wynn

o and yes, the majority already has or will very soon make the pro bowl at least once... please don't tell me u wanna compare stats of these players also...

now take your head out of your a$$ and stop making sh!t up... first of all, to correct u, the Eagles made the playoffs 4 times in the 1990's... they lost in the 1st round twice and the 2nd round twice... great team ya got there... how many superbowls they won? 0... in fact they haven't even been to a superbowl since 1981 when they got spanked by Oakland... now compare that to the Skins 3 shiny silver Lombardi trophies... haha u sound quiet...

to prove u wrong again, the Skins were ONE game away in 2000 and ONE game away in 2001 from making the playoffs as a wild card team... when u talk sports, don't be so ignorant as to TRY and make things up to make yourself look better... ONE game away from making the playoffs is a lot closer than 'not even having a chance' as u stated...

and wow signing Levens was huge accomplishment... i bet they'll make the superbowl for sure this year... and i don't know what planet your on, but your boy Freeman is NOT an Eagle and remains a free agent... Mitchell will hold it down, huh? just like he held it down last against our Fred Smoot? haha, Smooty owned Mitchell... and please don't say the D is automatically improved because u bums drafted 2 ROOKIE CB's... they are rookies - what have they proven? NOTHING... and i already talked about fat boy Kirkland... give him some donuts and let him chase everyone around the game til he gets too winded and has to sit down...

so do u watch sports? how bout ESPN? anything? i doubt it... if u did, maybe you'd know the Eagles get TONS of publicity... they are a very popular superbowl contender this year and like i mentioned earlier, anything less would be a disappointment... so set yourself up for a disappointing year cuz they ain't gonna do sh!t... @ Tennessee, Tampa Bay, @Chicago, Indy, @San Fran, St. Louis, and of course, us... lol good luck... i'll predict a strong 2nd place showing... and if my Skins have a bad year (which i HIGHLY doubt), then the Eagles will win the NFC East... other than the Skins and Eagles, the divison is weak this year... but if they get so lucky, i'm sure they'll choke again and get knocked out just as they can taste the big show...

i don't mind talking sports with u... but don't insult me and don't say sh!t just to convince people your team is great... state facts and state the truth... u might not like the truth when it comes to the Eagles and to tell u the truth, i could give 2 sh!ts if u think i'm right or not... the season is just around the corner and i'll enjoy proving u wrong...

  • MLB: Ask me during the first half, I would have sreamed "RED SOX!", but after the past month, I have my doubts. If it comes down to piching, I think the Diamond Backs will repeat. The Yanks on the other hand can really hit the ball. I think it will be a Yanks-Diamondback WS again, with the same results.

NFL: As a Pats fan, the team that works the hardest as a team shall prevail over any 1 or 2 stars. I like the Pats again. I may be the only one that thinks so, but how can you go against the team that finally proves to you as a fan "it pays off to stay true and believe".

NBA: No question, the Lakers. I hate them, but how can you bet against them. My Celts are not good enough to de-thrown the current champs, but wait until 2004.

NHL: Bruins will finish first again in the east, but the Wings will repeat. And that's about all I have to say about that sport

McNabb has talent and McNabb is good... i said that before... but he IS overrated... he has strong leadership - prolly his greatest quality... he's also a good runner... he gets so many yards cuz he's practically a RB... last year the Eagles tried to make him a pocket passer and he struggled... he has good #'s because contrary to what u think, he did have good WR's... Thrash played great last year and even Pinkston had his moments... he also had Chad Lewis - a very good TE... but if u watch him play, especially in games against good D's, he did not play as well people hype him up to be... the best D's he played last year were St. Louis, Chicago, and San Fran... Eagles record is those games (including playoffs): 1-3... and not olny that but look at the Eagles point totals... they usually barely broke 20, if that... and if it wasn't for the Eagles D last year, who knows if they would have even broke 20 a lot of the time... the Eagles D scored a LOT of points last year... so did the special teams with Brian Mitchell... they put up over 30 once and over 40 twice during the regular season last year - against Dallas twice and Minnesota once... i don't call that impressive... i'll admit they stepped it up in the playoffs, but they didn't make it to the superbowl, so it was a disappointing season...

now the Skins do NOT have a proven QB... but as i'm sure u will not argue, they do have a proven DEFENSE... look at the 2000 Ravens... did they have a proven QB? lol did they have a proven offense? they went 5 games without a TD and were horrible on offense... why did they win the superbowl that year? very simple - their defense... if the Skins D plays as good as they look on paper, they could be even better than the 2000 Ravens D... and Sage will not be our QB... that honor will go to Matthews... and yes he's not great, but neither was Trent Dilfer... Matthews struggled early on in camp, but he's looked great lately... and with Spurrier and his offensive genius, anything is possible... i'd take this offense anyday over the Ravens 2000 offense... we score a few points, let the defense handle the rest... sounds like a plan to me... it might work, it might not... but i can tell u now that the Skins will surprise many NFL followers...

  • Thito, yes the Redskins have a great defense but if anyone has a chip on their shoulder it would be the Redskins over the Eagles... Last year they were supposse to be great but they flopped... I like Arrington and Bailey, but if there on the field the whole time they are gonna get wore out... Im sure the O will put some points on the board, but I dont think 14 points would do it every game..

who said the Skins were supposed to be great last year? nobody expected the Skins to do anything (i did, but i do every year...)... Marty came in, cleared house, and had no QB to work with... going 0-5 was not the plan, but finishing 8-8 was a success compared to what we prolly should have finished... and like i pointed out to the bug, we were only one game away from making the playoffs... if anything, we over-achieved last year, especially after starting the season 0-5...

Arrington and Bailey will be on the field the majority of the time... of course, like every player, they'll get rests too... but why would they get tired and Kirkland and Vincent won't? it's the same scenario... it's the same with every team in the NFL... the 2000 Ravens set records that year and the most distinctive was fewest points allowed in a season... they never allowed many points on the board... the offense put up a few and even the defense put up a few... Marvin Lewis' D doesn't just play D, but they also score a lot of points... and try this: compare the 2000 Ravens defensive players to the 2002 Redskins defensive players... the Skins are extremely better... i know that's on paper, but if they turn that into play, this D has no limits... it's scary to think what they could accomplish this season... the only downfall would be they need time to gel... this is the 1st season alot of these players have been together and it might take some time... but they do have some crazy potential...

and as far as McNabb and his WR's... u also gotta understand this... the NFC East is a running division... it's a ground game and it focuses on the RB... those other teams u mentioned are pass-first teams and rely more on the QB than the RB... once again, i never said McNabb was bad, i simply stated he was overrated... he gets a LOT of hype and i think a lot of it is not true... stats can be very misleading and to really understand what i'm talking about, u just have to watch him play... he's very inconsistent - he makes some outstanding plays one moment and then completely blows the game the next... maybe it's cuz he is young, maybe it's because he's not as talented as people think, but either way, he doesn't deserve as much hype as he gets... the Eagles also have a great O-line... O-line's are just as important to an offenses success as the QB or RB himself... i think McNabb has potential to be better, but the Eagles are playing him wrong... they should let him do what he does and create plays instead of cementing him in the pocket and trying to have him throw the ball... after this season, tell me if i'm wrong about D. McNabb...

Super Bowl: I think Rams but instinctively I'm feeling the Chargers might surprise people...

NBA Champions... LAKERS... will dominate until Shaq retires image >>

the Chargers have a chance to do good, but superbowl??? nah... it all depends on how the QB plays out... if Brees gets the nod, he will have to play good and prove himself... if not, i don't see the Chargers doing much... they didn't really pick up many free agents in the offseason either... same 'ole team with 'ole Marty at the helm... i look for the defense to improve, but the offense to get worse...
