sent my last order in nov 26, they logged it dec 10 and mailed it February 9. I still haven't received it. They told me they were working with a very small staff.

It kinda seems silly for PSA to push low budget grading to SGC when there are a ton of PSA junk slabs and slabs that have been graded with different standards while SGC pops are really low. They could use SGC as a clean slate. They would have to improve the quality of the SGC service though.

Deprecation of service, all part of the wind down.

Yeah but the king gets double the price if they are gone.

My SGC order was received by them on 1/16, still at the 15-20 business day level. 20 business days later it still hasn't even moved to grading.

Watching what's happening to SGC reminds me of the movie Wall Street (1987). There is a scene where Bud Fox asks Gordon Gekko why he buys companies only to wreck them. Gekko's reply is "Because it's WRECKABLE, all right?! I took another look at it and I changed my mind."

28 business days and still no movement. I sent a message & got a response from customer service saying to expect 18-20 more business days for an update.

I'm sure they're covered by the word "estimated", but if they advertised 15-20 business days & took my money, shouldn't they have some responsibility to honor the terms?

Unlike PSA, SGC charges you when you submit an order.

Raid SGC staff, kill the value prop, devalue the brand and take in millions of cards for cross over. Handy little piece of business.

When this acquisition happened I was pretty sure price paid was mostly about talent acquisition and the migration value of existing SGC slabs, so this feels like that. This is exactly what I’d do if in PSA’s shoes, why would they carry a secondary brand? Honestly think people have to be nuts to still be submitting to SGC when it seems fairly
clear they won’t exist in the foreseeable future.

My SGC subs are strictly PC Red Sox cards from their championship era (2004-2018). Mostly red/orange/gold/black refractors of minor stars & near commons (though there is a big market for any Red Sox postseason legends). Not worth nearly $30 & 6 months to send to PSA, plus I like the serial numbers on SGC's labels.

The view on the highway is a lot cheaper, it's free.
