This 1903-O Barber Dime blends richly saturated peripheral color with warm golden centers and superb surface integrity. Anyone who knows this date will realize it is in fact a conditional rarity for this New Orleans Mint dime. The coin is sharply struck as seen for the issue but also has tremendous amount of luster for the date which is uncomon. While not the rarest issue overall in Mint State, the 1903-O ranks as the fourth rarest New Orleans Mint Barber dime in Gem condition, and the sixth rarest of the entire series at this level, with only two graded MS65+ by PCGS and none known finer in toned format. There is no auction record for a toned MS65+ example. A registry-quality showpiece, this coin is ideal for the advanced collector focused on toned Barber coinage, New Orleans Mint specialists, or anyone curating a type set.
