Another TOPPS Error. The 2025 Paul Goldsmidt
Hi guys,
Yes. In the NEW 2025 Heritage.
The Paul Goldschmidt!
This is NOT
Paul Goldschmidt!
Here's what Topps did to Alter, one of Paul's past cards with the Cardinal's uniform!
I have to give credit to a certain
Ebayer's error, (listed below).
He's the one that caught this magnificent Alteration!
Here's his detailed explanation...
Hopefully, TOPPS will redo this card.
Replace it with Paul's actual picture!
To me, it looks more like,
Anthony Volpe!
What do you guys think?
Thanks😊

I would hold on to them.

It's the singer not the song - Peter Townshend (1972)
You're not getting much love over here Joey. Aren't you tired of this baseball card thing yet? It's for kids. When are you going to dump these baseball cards and come back to a real hobby?
Come on Joey, I know you can do it. Come back where the real errors are! There's a couple of new banks in your area I want to talk to you about!
🤣 😉

Maybe Topps was really trying to make it feel 1970s when all these touch-ups were such a regular thing. They did it on Heritage not the regular Topps issue. Think it can be neat to hold and have as a conversation piece but would not expect it to have value for a # of reasons. First these strange cards where something feels off have traditionally only had much value if it was recognized early and replaced meaning scarcity, a la Billy Ripken face and variations that are also scarce like white scribble. Randy Johnson full on Marlboro sign, partially blocked, fully blocked. Two, its Goldschmitt in about his year 12 season where he is probably not heavily collected and not a rookie card or early. Randy with his Marlboro sign he was a rookie. Even with incredibly popular players like Hank Aaron and his 1957 Topps reverse negative its like huh interesting but no correct negative. So its just his 1957 card without added value.
Interesting.
Since they have a high numbers second release, seems unnecessary to do this.
Good it got caught - keeps the (licensed) monopoly company on its toes.

Agree they won’t do anything to change it.
