OK... how do the ref's work?

Forgive me if this post seems incredibly stupid but I don't want to inadvertantly tick anybody off

Are there any rules (formal or not) about when somebody can list somebody as a reference? Should I ask for explicit approval (like after a trade) or it ok to list somebody when a trade is completed and everybody seems satisfied (no complaints)?

Also, for those who have been satisfied with a trade involving me LMK and you can see your CU username in my wonderful little sig line

usually, if the trade goes well, no problems, its implied that you can use the person as a ref...if there were hassles, holdups, etc and one side wasnt quite happy, its a good idea to ask....

alex, youre a GREAT trader. I was one of the first to experience that, and am really happy I did. I suggest everyone do the same, the trade went great. and alex, anytime you need a ref, im there for you all the way.

I always ask before i out someone down on my ReF list. I dont want them getting an email about me for a ref. check and have them not saying that im a good trader. I mean, i have had some traders in teh past "prove" they sent cards to me (with a PO recept) but later on in our trade they told me that they found my cards in the backseat of their car. These liars i dont put on my buddy list. Hope this helps
