Most underrated player in MLB, NFL, NBA???

My picks:
NBA-Richard Jefferson or John Stockton
NFL-Chris Carter or Jabbar Gaffney(IF he stays healthy thoughout the season, expect him to take the ROY award)
MLB-Alfonso Soraino or Jeff Kent or Tom Glavine(finally getting recognized this season)

Tom Glavine has always been recognized. He doesn't have 4 or 5 20+ win seasons and 2 Cy Young Awards for nothing.

By the way, Maddux has won his last 7 straight decisions and is now second in the NL with a diminishing 2.59 ERA. He's Mr. low-earned run average anyway. Check out how many ERA titles he's won. He pitches tomorrow, and will be 10-2 after the game.

MLB - Mike Lowell!
NFL - I agree with you Yanksfan (can you believe it?)...Cris Carter is definitely underrated, and Gaffney just MIGHT take the ROY award...pending he stays healthy as you pointed out.

MLB- A. Soriano (wow, only his 2nd full year); R. Sexson; Mark Prior (Cubs pitcher... I think he looks like a young Greg Maddux... but this guy can hit also... when he is playin, keep an eye on this guys hitting also)

NBA- Desmond Mason (of course); Michael Finley; Steve Nash; and others

NFL- Jamal Lewis (my fav. football playa); RW McQuarters (my homie, lol, I mean OSU); Plaxico Burress (he's got fancy hands)

Playr is right... his playa, Vladdy (is also my best player in baseball with sosa and soriano...)
he is really underated
I forgot all bout him... I just wasn't thinkin of my fav. playas besides soriano becuz yanksfan mentioned him in the first post

sonic-I'm just amazed since most players crap it up in there 2nd season, but he had a huge season.
But, the b-more Ravens aren't sure about Lewis yet, 2 knee sugeries(one on each) and he won't start training camp with pads and full contact. I've met him at a car show(he was signing autos) and I talked with him for 20 minutes about everything, pretty nice guy.
Burriss is a total beast, 6'6 or something like that. When he fully devloped(physically and mentally) there aren't many DB's that will be able to handle him

I knew that, but I still like him and think he's EXTREMELY underrated. Of course you have a good farm system...gotta have the $$$ there as well, which George has...

Nah, people know their names, but not many would realize that Vidro is actually the team MVP this year, they'd automatically say Vladdy. Vladdy, Vidro, AND Vazquez get nowhere near the recognition they deserve. They may not be underrated in the baseball world (players/managers/scouts) but as far as alot of fans are concerned, Vladdy is a 'good' outfielder and Vidro is a 'good' second basemen. These guys have hit over .300 the last three years, Vladdy is already nearing 200 career homers (5 shy), has a career BA of over .300, and hes one of the few TRUE 5-TOOL Talents yet almost nobody would rank him in the top 5 players in he league. This is what the average list would look like:

A-Rod
Jeter
Sosa
Ichiro
Jeter

When it should be
A-Rod
Vladdy
Sosa
Green (another underrated guy

Jeter/Ichiro

Jose Vidro is the best 2b man in MLB, period. I am a Boston fan and I know that. Vidro can field, hit 300+, hit for some power and drive in runs.

all these NFL players everyone has been listing are not underrated... they are some of the best players in the league and they GET their credit... underrated players get NO credit yet perform like the best...

NFL - Stephen Davis and Troy Brown... there are 2 players that are HIGHLY underrated...

Carter is retired...

and Jamal Lewis is not underrated... he's lucky to have had a full season in 2000... the man is seriously injury prone... he's a good RB, but he's never healthy...

and Plaxico Burress is OVERRATED, not underrated... the man is tall, so what? he had a decent season last year, but his hands are horrible... did anyone watch his rookie season? biggest bust of the draft... he did improve last year, but please don't say he is underrated... he's skinny as a toothpick and only has his height to his advantage... a lot of these corners are getting stronger... i don't see Plaxico being much of a threat for most corners... plus he has an attitude... not saying he's bad, just please don't say he's underrated...

NFL-The Tiki Barber/Ron Dayne duo. Best duo in the game! But, for one person, it would have to be Adam Vinatieri. I had him on my fantasy league team the WHOLE year last year and he got more points than the top payed kicker in the NFL (Ryan Longwell, he plays for the Packers (My state's team so I gotta love em) and he is the top payed kicker but I think that he sucks (he misses like 5 FG and 2 EP a year it seems like)), and he made the winning kick in the FRICKIN SUPER BOWL, yet, Tom brady gets MVP! Ugh.

NFL- the Kickers...yep...they make/break a game lotsa the time
also, Zach Thomas (since 1996, hed be my #1 defensive pick, but he finally is getting recognition, just got boosted to unlisted star in beckett this month) and i haveta say Amos Zereoue (did better than bettis last year for the time he played, and has better receiving % than the frickin receivers on the team)

nfl- mcnabb(well sorta, he's better than culpepper, and is playing better than farve, aikman, brady) but he gets no hype. brady gets hype after being a 1 YR WONDER!

nba- not so sure about now, but scottie pippen was pretty underrated a few yrs ago. id have to say duncan, baron davis, and t-mac
