so my wife best friend owns storage buildings. We are helping clean out storages that are not paid. Sandy told us keep what we find, Rest in dumpster. There was a cabinet I opened and in it was a coffee can with wheat pennies. and looked to be silver coins. So I closed the lid and kept working, so not to draw attention. Lets just say I found a new place to find coins and the best part FREE.

I'm confused. If you were told to keep what you find, why do you have to hide it?
Is the close-up because you want confirmation on the PMD?
Always nice to find silver coins in the wild, but not sure if you have a question about it or not.
I see an regular Kennedy half with a damaged 4.
I see free silver!!![:) :)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Not sure if the OP had a question or just wanted to share his new acquisition.
Congrats on the free silver. Is there a question related to the closeups of the Kennedy?

In case you’re thinking you have the elusive 1964 SMS Kennedy half dollar, you don’t. The tear drop that hangs from the 4 on the so called SMS Kennedy is shaped differently from yours and is in a different location.

There are dozens of threads here about the so-called1964 SMS coins. You can do a search for them and see what has been said already. In a nutshell, your coin being a 1964 SMS is impossible. Any video you see on YouTube or elsewhere saying otherwise is simply wrong.
That's your pay for doing the dirty work. Nice gig. Now find some Silver Dollars next time and work your way up to gold.
Your'e right - it can't. Just $8.80 worth of silver.

You and your wife are apparently in a great position to find some treasure, cleaning out storage units. Good luck! Keep us posted of your finds.

Most of the current research regarding 1964 "SMS" coins is incorrect.
Regardless, you do not have one.

I thought sure this post would show a 1964 Franklin Half by Dan Carr![;) ;)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Cause when told keep what you find and you find money other people tend to want a piece of the pie, and Ole greedy gut didn't want to share even with the person who turned him onto the find. In other words personal preference..
Me and the wife are wanting to go to gold. Trade my coins and stuff to start.
So what else did you find in the can? Check wheaties and silver yet?
