    A rivalry for the ages

Anyone else going to be watching game 1 tonight? Should be a good series if Florida can keep up like they have so far.

I am a season ticket holder here in Vegas and went to about 30 games so far this year. Did not go to game 1 but am going tonight. GO KNIGHTS GO!

P.S. I highly recommend all sports fans take in a VGK game some time when you are in Vegas. Arrive early, hang out at Beer Haus, wait for the drum line and cheerleaders to show up, and then walk over to the building with them. It's a very collegiate atmosphere outside with the DJ, fans, etc.... Then you get inside and it's straight VEGAS! Really fun!

It's shocking how many goals have been scored this entire playoff bracket

Florida looks like they are just target practice for Vegas

LV seems to be just that good of a team. They may win a few Cups in the next 5 years.

Seems like it is Vegas season to win The Cup they lead 4-1 in the 2nd period. Pretty impressive to win a Cup in 6 seasons in the NHL.

the series was officially over after the Kolesar hit on Tkachuk. Not just because his shoulder is hanging by a Barbie butterfly band-aid, but since Florida has no true PP QB, and with Huberdeau gone, Florida also doesn't have a plus half-wall distributor (Pat Kane, Nick Backstrom, Huberdeau type).

So their PP is usually forced to run through Tkachuk from the goal-line, which is suboptimal because it leads to A) a static PP lacking movement - b) the defense already knows where the Panthers are going to be since there is no movement - easiest thing for a penalty killer to do is shut down a play when you know where everybody is going to be. Puck goes around the outside, fed back to Tkachuk, he has to feed a pass through 3 sticks with a miracle pass in the slot or at the backdoor. Barkov has to drift out to the wall to cover that assignment, even though he should be the one in the slot, in the bumper position, so that leaves Sam Bennett to fill Barkov's bumper slot, and he can't do it, because he doesn't have the hands or high enough of an offensive IQ to do that job.

Thus in order for Florida to win this series, it would have taken Bob to singlehandedly steal two games, slog their way to two more victories at a 1-0 or 2-1 score with a pinball goal. In the end, Vegas, like Carolina, didn't fall for their meatball act. Didn't respond to getting punched, slashed, cross-checked, stick-raked etc. A complete masterclass in dealing with a heavy forecheck and staying out of the box. So Florida can join the bubble-cup Montreal team who had no business getting to where they are. They need a Tyson Barrie type on the blueline and someone who can work the half-wall on offense. Sam Reinhardt should be the first guy getting the boot. Complete passenger.

Tkachuk deserved the hit he received by Kolesar because he tried to harm Jack Eichel, reminds me of pay back time when Scott Stevens laid out Eric Lindros who deserved the brutal check from Scott Stevens because Lindros made a career of hitting smaller players.
