New Ebay Listing tactic

jesbrokenjesbroken Posts: 8,710 ✭✭✭✭✭

Been buying/selling on Ebay since 2004 and this is the first time I have seen this practice. As I have nothing to do with the ebayer nor their listing, I will only show you the new tactic.

I’m still hung up on the seller that posts that weird baby as the primary listing photo, instead of the coin. I make a point of never clicking on these.

Nothing is as expensive as free money.

Pretty sure that's against ebay ToS.

on an open auction, a seller can end on whatever bid they want to?! never knew that...

also - thank god - have never seen the 'surprised baby' listings ... yeesh! 😒

I've seen that exact same format used somewhere else...I genuinely don't remember where... Mercari maybe?

Yes, I've seen that ... and the one with the cartoon young woman looking at you in total shock.

I think he patented the tactics.

Weird - why not a pic of a Cadillac rhymes with CAC lol.

Every seller on the bay is different. People here try make generalizations about us but it shows their ignorance of the business. I had about 10 years bourse room experience at shows before selling on the bay. A player may have things bin / mo which are marked up high say cost x 2 but will not sell below minimum commission level.

Tire kickers and low ballers (enemy) don’t know what One has in something so Player may say “that’s lowest consignor will go” or “that’s best price only $5 over my cost.” He may like jerk them around play games with them considering the crud they (tire kickers) are. If it’s really low pop Dont give it away for less than what you want especially if it’s only one in room. Some things at a show Dealer will price cheap (high pop generics) like cost plus 10 pct for cash flow. if they try haggle it’s game on and he will use whatever play works “sorry on consignment from another dealer so lowest can go (lol).”

Don’t let them chisel you down. You don’t owe them free ride. They trying get you pay their crossover, sticker, grading cost. It’s just fun and games play to win.

I do not like the 30 day BIN good til cancelled eBay model or the auction with 30% higher BIN.

    I wonder how fees compare.
