eBay - Buyer pays for return shipping (except not)

I listed a coin that the buyer wished to return because he "didn't like it." The listing requires the buyer to pay return shipping:
So can someone explain why eBay just charged me for return shipping? Is this new? Thanks!

I doubt eBay could even explain it.
No.
You're welcome!
They did an item not as described which you should have contested!
He could try. Maybe he'll get lucky.
Ebay is actually perfect about returning a call request... go request a call from customer service and make them explain it.
Honestly they have treated me right for decades now, don't be shy with them!

It's too late now.
I expect you're right.
I never approved anything - the buyer initiated the return and eBay automatically approved it. I think a SNAD would have been in the "Reason for return" if that were the case..
Check out my iPhone app SlabReader!
I might have to include a line in my descriptions -> Do not bid if it is not what you are looking for.
You should talk to them. It might come out of the refund????
I'd ask Ebay. Does not look like a SNAD.
I think they will fix that. I hope.
My understanding, is ebay is charging the seller the return regardless of the reason, A freind that sells comics and cards told me this while back, and had same thing happen to me, guy just didnt like, but I still got stuck covering the return
eBay likes buyers, assumes sellers are taking advantage of them. The reason isn't important. Noting to see here- move along, folks.
An item not as described would initiate a claim against the seller who would be given an opportunity to present his side of the story. Claims get dragged out with each party given many days to respond. Seller would have known if there was a claim.
It will happen suddenly
This is the only thing I can think of... you buy the label, and then the buyer gets the cost of the label docked. It's roundabout, but the bookkeeping would be a wash. I'd still call to ask.
I did look it up on eBay and it says that when the buyer pays, the buyer pays for the label. So, I don't know...
