Home Buy, Sell, & Trade - U.S. Coins

SOLD UHR - Got charged today - I don't want it anymore. SOLD

Well, I think I changed my mind about this thing. I had purchased it intending to keep it, but I just can't get used to the idea of spending that much money on a brand new coin. The good news is that since I am selling mine, it is guaranteed to go up in value - had I kept it, it would sure to have been worthless.

Anyway, my credit card got charged today, so it must be on it's way.

They seem to go on ebay for about the 1600 ish rang so I'll put it up here for $1500 via money order. (1550 if paypal) I'll cover shipping with signature confirmation.

PM me if you'd like it.

Edited to add:

Threw it on ebay on a few members suggestions. Holy crap I can't believe what it sold for.

Send it back, they are available at the mint for $1,289. So why would anyone buy from you or off ebay?

Not anyone on this board anyway. Try Craigslist.

people on these boards can defend themselves very well, without you posting against the OP, or maybe it's your tone which is annoying me.

that being said, the value of the UHR in this case would be anyone who wants a NGC/PCGS first strike/release slabbed piece. if this comes out in the first wave, it'll be first strike eligible in mint packaging. with the way these guys are going to come out drips and drabs, there's a potential for a remarkably SMALL % of coins to be FS/FR eligible..... of course, FS/FR designations are of dubious merit, but it's been proven in the marketplace that the 'average' collector will tend to sometimes prefer this label over others.

I figured if you were going to post a negative, Id counterbalance with a positive. as in all cases, the individual purchaser will have to make their own decision on where to spend their cashish.

    Hmmmmmmmmmmm, you are correct!
I'll eat my words. Just don't do that first strike thing and never crossed my mind.

Still dont understand your interest in someone else's post. Sounds like you translate a lack of control in
your personal life into rather angry, Gomer Pyle style "citizens arrest" call outs on an public message board.

As I type this, the post is on the top anyway, so please don't be mad at me responding!

AU and AG - thanks for the apology. Not very often someone actually changes their mind.

Thanks to everyone else for sticking up for me. Im not out to gouge anyone or anything, and I realize I could just return it - but being as how fast they seem to be selling everywhere, it just seems silly to pass up on a chance to pocket a little cash. As much as I like the boards and the people on here - I also don't mind making a few dollars if I get a chance. Not trying to take advantage of or trick anyone, but I remembered people were offering in some cases a bunch of money for these, before we could even order them. Now I have a real one on the way.

And before anyone still just thinks I am a cold hearted jerk - find the thread on here from a few days ago where I offered to give anyone who was interested PCGS graded First Strike, first spouse gold for an equal weight amount of plain bullion. (ie, my two PR69 DCAM first spouses, for your one plain old regular Gold Eagle) Why bother? Just in case anyone on the boards had an interest in the spouse gold but didn't want to pay a premium. Point is, I love being nice, but if I can pocket a hundred bucks with no effort - I'm probably going to try, and think anyone else would too.

Again, Cars, Coll3ctor, Hyperion, carew4me, Thanks for sticking up for me. And AuandAG, I appreciate the eating of your words!

Eric (PutTogether) is a good guy and he is just running with what he has.
No one's arm is being twisted.

Not sure what the dealer's are offering, if anything, for a 1st strike eligible one currently.....$1500 could be a good deal for someone if they want it now and/or want the 1st strike (or want to take the chance it will 70 if graded)....wonder what a 70 w/ 1st strike will go for? image

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I think it was the fact that you called the coin worthless and then decided to make a $200 profit. Your input of what you thought of the coin was unnecessary as there are alot of people that like it, including me.

    That's not what he said.

He was attempting humor, saying that if he keeps the coin, the value is certain to go down (ha, ha!)

Again, this thread was at the top as I typed this, so forgive the reply!

I wasn't calling the coin worthless. It was a joke (and a common one at that) that anything i decide to keep drops in value, and if i sell it, it sure to go up. Just a joke, that's it. Like if I buy 100 oz of silver tonight - you can bet your ass that silver drops tommorow. If I SELL 100 of silver, it is sure to go up. Get it?

I like the coin too, I think it is beautiful, I've just changed my mind about because I just can't fall in love with the diameter after finally seeing one in person. I should have better prepared myself for the smaller size, that's all.

I was almost in your position until I blew the whole years budget on an early 1800's gold coin just before the sale date and now have nothing left for the UHR.

Priorities are different for everyone but it appears yours and mine are similar.

No harm in making a few $$ if someone wants to spend it.
