This ebay seller thinks WW2 was fought 105 years ago
Here's his description of a 1905 US-Philippines Centavo...
"Here is a 1905, copper One Centavo coin, struck at the Philadelphia (U.S.A.) mint for the Philippine Islands in World War Two. Check out the condition of this 105 year old coin!"
And it's even worse when he says in his listing, "I am a Life Member of the ANA #1087, TAMS #38, CWTS #5, NJES #32, GSNA #32, OCCC #51".

I once worked with someone who retired as an E-7 after 21 years, did two tours in Korea.... and thought the Korean War happened in the 60s...
Edit - And I've been surprised to discover people on more than one occasion who never realized there was a WWI, though they know all about that war with D-Day, Hitler and the A-bomb called World War TWO.
My wantlist & references
There was a Russo-Japanese war in 1905, but it wasn't anywhere near the Philippines, more in the Yellow Sea/Manchuria/Korean peninsula areas.
Then there was the incident in the North Sea where the Russian fleet in transit shot up the British fishing fleet because they thought they were Japanese. From the net:
<<The Russian Baltic Fleet, having spent the whole summer fitting out, sailed from Liepaja on Oct. 15, 1904. Off the Dogger Bank (in the North Sea) on October 21, several Russian ships opened fire on British trawlers in the mistaken belief that they were Japanese torpedo boats, and this incident aroused such anger in England that war was only avoided by the immediate apology and promise of full compensation made by the Russian government.>>

Very interesting references. I have heard this story before but that article said the technique was worthless other than as a morale booster. Apparently it did work in WW I and to a lesser degree in WW II.

Ask Seller a Questions:
<< <i>Aren't you aware that World War II came AFTER World War I, which occurred from mid-1914 through late 1919? Calling this item a WW II coin makes you look pretty ignorant. >>
Seller's response:
<< <i>Thanks for the nudge! Yes, I know my history well, but I copied and pasted some of that information from the last item I listed. Sometimes I'm not fully awake at 2 AM when I list this stuff, ha, ha. Thanks for waking me up. I will correct now. Yep, I was around in WWII too. >>
I had a young boy, maybe 10 yo tell me the other day that WWII was from 1990 to 1991.
I gently corrected him.
When I was his age I won a Kawanis gold medal for my knowledge about the U. S. Civil War.
I was reading any civil war book I could get my hands on. I also was a hard core coin collector by then.
The other day a TV interviewer on the street asked a young college girl how many stars are on that American flag flying over there?
She said , "the flag was waving too much for her to count them".
Are we in trouble?

OT I know but when I saw your link I was wondering if this liner would make an appearance;
This is RMS Olympic (the sister ship of the ill fated Titanic). Had a very successful career and even managed to sink a German U-Boat by driving into it.
As regards to the comments made on the campagin trail here is the actual clip from Reuters, no editing involved.
