MJ Roop Wooden Storage Boxes DEAL IS CONFIRMED

spacktrackspacktrack Posts: 1,084 ✭✭
With MJ Roop now out of business, I know there've been several posts on the boards looking for the storage boxes that they sold. I've been in contact with the manufacturer and have arranged for a limited offering of their boxes if there's enough interest.

The manufacturer will drop ship to locations as long as they are outside of New York state. The sales rep told me that they're not set up to collect sales tax as a manufacturer. If any NY residents want boxes, please PM me and we'll talk about getting them out to the proper places. Same goes for Canadian collectors as I'll need to get a freight quote.

The price per box is $80 which includes freight. Last summer there was a thread here with the same boxes for the same price and they sold out quickly.

The manufacturer has put a 10 day window on the terms of sale, so I'd need to know how many boxes you're interested in. If it looks like we'll meet their minimum, I'll start to collect payment. I'll also take payment up front if you prefer and refund it if the purchase doesn't go through. Paypal preferred as it's easiest to track, clears instantly, and can be immediately refunded if needed.

You can post here or PM me with interest. I know there was a lot of interest the last time this was put together, so hopefully this will help out some people who missed out or want more.

I have many references available upon request.

Thanks,

Brian

  • Brian,

I would most definitely be interested in 10 boxes if they are the nice wooden ones. I live in Hawaii (Zip 96793). Would pay via Paypal.

Manufacturer is located in the Rochester area...they are not set up to collect sales tax and won't ship to NY addresses. I'd be willing to take shipment of boxes for those in NY and reship them. Depending on location, we could arrange to meet as I'm in NJ.
  • I would be interested in 2 of them. email payment requirements to ping4u43@yahoo.com

Hankcaddy, hope you don't mind but I'm borrowing the picture you posted in the last group buy so that people can see what they look like.

Thanks Danny, I've added you to the list.

We're 80% of the way there after one day, so I fully expect this to reach the minimum and get the order placed.

I'll ask for all committments by Sunday morning. Paypal info will follow.

    Thanks,

    Brian
  • Are they wood or metal? How many cards to they hold? I'm interested and need to store nearly 700 cards. More pictures (of the inside of the box) would be great too!

The boxes are made of wood and hold about 176 or 180 PSA slabs. There are 4 trays inside the box that keep them in place. Dimensions are around 8.5 x 14.5 x 5.5 I believe--probably slightly bigger.

We've met the miniumum, and in much less time than I expected. Since there's only a 10 day window on this, I'll need payments ASAP. There are 17 buyers involved. Payment by Paypal for the number of boxes x $80. If you're in for 3 or more and could pay by eCheck, that'd be great as it'd save some eBay fees.

ALSO...it's not too late to get in...I can always add more as long as we've met the minimum. Same goes for adding extra boxes to your order...just adjust Paypal accordingly.

Please make sure you include an address for UPS ground delivery. Once I have all 17 payments and address, I'll forward it off and make the one payment, and they can go ahead and process it.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Brian

Does anyone know if SGC cases fit inside this box?
  • estangestang Posts: 1,362 ✭✭✭
It fits SGC card (I have 2 just like it). It fits 29 per row or 116 total. I find these much better than the flimsier cardboard ones that are 100%+ cheaper as they can be stacked and the locks close a lot easier.
    Enjoy your collection!

  • You know you can order direct now and probably less then $80.00
  • spacktrackspacktrack Posts: 1,084 ✭✭
Thanks to those of you who have paid already. We're up to 20 guys involved now, so I have to wait for more to pay.

As for ordering direct, the wooden box supplier will only take large orders (like we're doing) because they're a manufacturer. The cardboard boxes are available on an individual basis from that supplier because they're a retailer.

    Spacktrack,

Just so I know what I would be buying for sure, for $80.00 delivered, I would receive, the wooden outside box, the divider boxes on the inside (are those made of wood as well?), and is that a lock with a key, that is on the outside, or simply a non-keyed latch of some sort??

I'm close to buying, just want to make sure what I think is included, actually is.

You'd get the wooden box, the 4 trays (not wood), and I do believe that is a locking latch that'd come with a key. $80 includes all shipping to you as well.

As an update to all involved, I've received payment from half of the guys involved in the order. I'd like to get 95-100% of payments in by tomorrow night so I can place the order Monday. It's not too late to get in, just please send payment to me ASAP.

    Thanks!
