Join the NASC and receive a subscription to the award winning California Numismatist quarterly... ju

The California Numismatist is the joint publication of the Numismatic Association of Southern California (NASC) and the California State Numismatic Association (CSNA). The magazine is a quarterly publication and the full color print copy of approximately 80 pages is sent out to all members of the NASC and CSNA. I am happy to announce that The California Numismatist has been awarded first place in the outstanding regional numismatic publication category by the ANA for 2014. With this 2014 award, that makes ten consecutive years that The California Numismatist has earned that recognition from the ANA!
***Edited to add that the publication won the ANA award for 2015 as well, making it 11 straight years!***

I am also making this post to announce that I have been elected as the Vice-President of the NASC for 2015-2016. In addition to publishing The California Numismatist, the NASC does a lot of work to encourage and support numismatics among its members and the general public. In particular, the NASC supports local coin clubs and hosts educational symposia on numismatic topics.

I invite you all to check out pdf back issues of our award-winning magazine, The California Numismatist, which are available to the public free of charge on our website. The current version is a privilege of membership and only a few pages of that issue are available to the public:

Given the costs of printing and mailing the magazine, annual dues for NASC membership are currently $20 per year. I have been urging the NASC to offer a new electronic-only membership level at a reduced cost, and I believe that will be approved at our next board meeting. In the meantime, I am able to offer full regular memberships which include a print subscription at a promotional rate of just $10 for a first-year membership for new members of the NASC.
One your first year is up, you would have the option of renewing for the normal $20 rate if you like getting the print copy of our magazine, or you could renew for $10/year going forward if you just wanted access to the electronic copy. Either way, your continued support of the NASC would be greatly appreciated.

That said, I primarily wanted to make the membership here aware of this great publication and also aware of the Numismatic Association of Southern California as I really haven’t seen any other postings here about either.
And of course, if any of you like what you see and would like to join the NASC (which includes a one-year subscription to the print version of The California Numismatist) at the $10 first-year promotional rate, please let me know as your support would be greatly appreciated and really would make a difference at this time in helping to promote our great hobby in Southern California and beyond.
Thanks for your time,
Mike

Just wanted to again urge you all to considering joining at our promotional first-year rate which is only going to be available until the end of this year. It really is a bargain and your membership would be greatly appreciated and your support would be helpful to our organization and many Southern California coin clubs that receive support from the NASC.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you'd like to sign up.
Thanks,
Mike
