HA.com quote from the 2008 Long Beach Token and medal Auction
"Oregon Numismatic Society 1946 Membership Medal. Bronze. 1946 membership medal from the Oregon Numismatic Society's Oregon Beaver Dollar. This piece should have been included in the 1963 so-called dollar catalog by Hibler and Kappen alongside HK-573 and it just might be in the new catalog coming out in 2008, listed as HK-573A"

I own the dies and had a few restrikes made - and posted a ANA badge with a similar design (below) - but don't have an original 1946 ONA badge.

I'm surprised to see that from HA. I haven't seen any coin club medals catalogued in HK. Are there any or have have they confirmed they are going to add some?

Lakesammman, if you work with Dan Carr, it might be interesting to have a medal struck with selective gold plating like this one:

Wow -- that is cool!
<< <i>He did make a bimetallic version for me, but that gold PikePeak version is really nice!
Neat.
I think it is awesome that you own those dies. Wow!

That's a cool piece and a nice use of the dies! I haven't seen any other bimetallic pieces from Dan so it's good to know he can make them.
The Pike's Peak is one of my favorite DC pieces.

I don't classify those coin club medals as "bi-metallic" since they are actually both selectively gold-plated on a solid copper base.
There were, however, a few of the Colorado Springs Coin Club medals struck over bi-metallic casino "Silver Strikes" that first had
the silver centers replaced by pure copper blanks prior to the final striking.
The only other true bi-metallic items I've produced are these Astronaut $2 concept coins (solid 999 silver center, with solid brass ring):

Thanks for the explanation and the mention of the CSCC medals and Astronaut coins. I'm aware of the Astronaut coins (it was my first avatar here), but somehow it slipped my mind when thinking of bimetallics recently.
Nice work
