Suspect listing on ebay, 1913-S qtr in PC55

This seller can't possibly own this coin. I'd be concerned about all his other listed keys.

<< <i>Odd the cert when ran says the coin is not in any registry but coinfacts shows registered in a Michael Hayes.

What's odd, is I did the same search and it directed me to a different Registry set where there was no 13-S (not sure how that function works).
completed listings - coins n paper money only i refined the search

a bit peculiar to send such items to flat-out auction. normally when this happens it is one of 3 scenarios: 1. a well-known seller with a good following to support NR auctions. 2. scam account 3. shilling but owns items.
any others i can think of get into too much speculation.
.
Give him the opportunity to snap a picture of it sitting on top of his hometown newspaper with today's date and either add it to the listing or email it to you.
I contacted him earlier today, when I became aware of this listing. No response. Ebay has been notified.

<< <i>About 2 months ago I sold it to a friend in Ohio, who I'm 100% certain still has it. >>
Very interesting. Seller has a solid history of selling coins on eBay, although no valuable coins. Possibly a hacked eBay account?
Are you referring too G M , if so I know he still has it
I said the same thing about sellers history as NE Coin as well
I did notice on thing about recent sales from seller:
This seller has sold a spattering of some semi and key dates recently an AU58 1877 Indian CAC - and a couple of key Morgans 89-CC and 93-S
My only explanation would be if the coins are counterfeit coins/counterfeit holders
Note that All the certified keys he's sold recently are the old blue holder style with coin number and series #. That could be a hint of smelling sour if that's the common denominator regarding his surplus of fakes.
The raw key Morgans could be cast counterfeits - I haven't dug that deeply though

Yes, that 1913-S is from my retired set, which was purchased by BarberKeys ( Vern ) and he
has since placed it with another Barber collector. Obviously, this coin auction is a ruse, as the
current owner is well known, and if anyone knew it was on the market again, it would be Vern.
Glad to see the Auction shut down.

Possibly because there were different Registry sets. One had a 13-S and the other, not.

"We have checked out our coin and verified that there are some inconsistencies in the details of both coin and holder.
The photos were provided by the original seller when we purchased this item and were reused for the listing.
Because the item may be of questionable authenticity, or possibly a fake/somehow altered slab, we have removed the listing.
Thanks for bringing our attention to this matter!"

I see in their completed listings, a few keys were listed as sold. If anyone is aware of who the buyers might be, I'd advise caution on payment.
