LSCC Gobrect Dollar Medals - Gold

I just received my Gold medal today.

I really like it, I think its an interesting medal and I happy that I had one made. I cannot wait to get the silver version as the diameter is wider - I think it could be even better than the gold!

I see the coiner made the reverse larger than the obverse. Quite a trick, this image

I received two gold ones yesterday (one mine & one for another club member) and have been enjoying comparing minor differences between the two. The frost on Liberty doesn't completely match between the two, w/small differences on the hgh points. Also I detect what appear to be lathe lines on Liberty's neck, this is more apparent on the silver proofs. These are very minor points, it would be instructive to sit down with Mr. Carr for a few minutes with the pieces in hand. The medals are nicely done.

Yes mine is quite rare in that regard. I agree these medals look pretty awesome - I would like to buy the prototype that is up for auction at the Baltimore show, but I dont think I will be able to afford it.

I will simply have to 'make due' with the proof and unc versions.

There were two silver test strikes, and some copper ones. A full census will be published in the Journal. The first silver test strike was auctioned off last year, so there is one remaining. We will continue to auction these off at the ANA meetings.
