1857-O Seated Liberty dime (w/grading poll)

My eleventh purchase for the new 19th century VF-XF Basic Type Set.

This was a relatively inexpensive, $40-ish purchase. As you can see from the prongs, it is in TPG plastic. I'll reveal that grade once the poll has reached over 20 votes or so. What's hilarious is that I'll have to go back and check my past conversation with the seller to do that, since I've totally forgotten the numerical grade in the 24 hours or so since I bought this! (I lack a full-slab photo at the moment.)

I went with the "Neutral/No Vote/Results Only" poll option again this time.

Now I'll go back into my PM history and see what the TPG grade is. Haha. I'm getting senile in my middle age.

I'll reveal that once I know it and we've hit oh, twenty or so votes in the poll, or whenever I log on in the morning.

It's a 15..20 at best. ngc probably called it 25-30.

    That's my guess.image

Five more votes and I'll reveal the TPG grade, if anyone cares.

I voted VF-30. If this is in a Fine holder, someone goofed up.

If I saw this coin raw I'd call it 20 but I'll say they called it 25. Nice coin.

IrishMikey, in true Yoda Jedi Master form, has prevailed. (Along with six other voters, at this point.)

It is in an NGC VF30 holder.

I graded it "rhedden F15" (NGC VF20) without looking at anyone's responses, and promptly found out I'm way on the low end of the distribution this time. The reason I left it at F15 was the weakness in the lower leaves of the wreath at either side of the mint mark. My grades are almost always one level below NGC's, so I'll be curious to see if it is indeed VF20. Whatever the answer, this one is quite nice for the grade, having pleasing color and original surfaces, while exhibiting few contact marks. The stars and denticles are well-struck, and it is free of black spots. I like this acquisition for the OP's type set.
