Making Red Copper into Brown Copper

OK heres what happened. When I cracked out the Vermont Baby Head, I 'washed it up' and in the course of doing this careful washing broke through the brown to the red on the corner of the planchet clip. NO GOOD.
I wanted to learn how to retone the red (fairly deep bright red for those wanting to know what a RED vermont copper looks like)...trying to retone that red spot back to brown.
Parmolive Dishwashing liquid. I kid you not. Google it...........
anyway, I got some , put a small drop on the red spot and in no time at all it had retoned deep brown and was now fully blended. Parmolive has "liver of sulfur" in it, whatever they call that now, chemically, Im not sure...but it turns red copper brown.
whew.
