I know this is a duplicate thread - sorry!

I would if I was not at the show in Michigan. Any chance to fire the OP is a good show. Those on the fence about going who are in the area should make the trip. Nice location and for those who despise shows that seem all wholesale this is a very retail show.

Ha! I work hard, am nice to my customers, have lots of pretty copper, and I even serve wine and snacks - who would want to fire ME??? On the other hand, lazy insubordinate employees who make fun of the boss, now they deserve at least 20 lashes, on TOP of firing!

I won't make it this time. I'll be on the East coast this weekend.

On the subject of employees, sometimes you don't have to be the disciplinarian and instead you can wait for natural karma to take its course. I have an employee who isn't the one I'm the most fond of who's been stranded in Paris for an extra five days due to the flight restrictions. Miss Rossi be lodging at the splendid grandeur of the Charles de Gaulle airport Terminal 2 until her rescheduled flight on Friday.

Anyone who's been through CDG knows that that airport isn't the best airport to effectively kill time at. Good thing the airport's conveniently connected to the good parts of the city of light by RER commuter train.

I think I might just come on down and visit you, Charmy... you might could be having some-ting I likes.

I had a great time at the last one - my first show, actually... there aren't many close to me, but there were some great coins at the last one, and if my wallet didn't run out, I'd have stayed there all day!

If you're in the North Bay there are a few small shows scattered throughout the year that aren't too far away. One of them is the Vallejo Numismatic Society show in Vallejo on May 2.

  • Hey, it's good to see you all again. I had been pretty busy the last few months, and not here much. I was not planning on going to the Old Mint show, but will see how I feel in the morning.

But Charmy, you should watch what you say. Some people might like the idea of some strong discipline, especially here in the Bay Area!!!

Here are a few pictures we took at the Old SF Mint Building during the dealer tour today. Sorry that the quality isn't any better - they were taken from my cell phone. The first one is of me taken by Rick Snow from the 3rd floor looking down at the room I'm set up in, and the next one is one I took looking up at Rick at the same balcony. The next one is one I took ogf Rick in the area underneath the entrance to the Mint and one Rick took of me at the same spot. We're standing next to the base of what the columns are built on - see how huge and massive the base is! The next one is of my son Troy standing next to a metal column in one of the various rooms, followed by a pics of a couple of old photos showing bags of coins, etc. that are displayed at the mint. Then the last one shows the outside courtyard area from the 2nd floor - note the outside of the tbuilding is made of sandstone (not granite), and the widow frames were made of steel instead of wood. Very historic and interesting old building. We really enoyed the tour and the history surrounding this building which was built in 1870 and, thanks to a very innovative and "man ahead of his time" architecht, this building withstood the horribly destrictive fire that occurred following the 1906 SF earthquake.
