MORE NEWP PRETTY TONED INDIAN CENTS! mmmmmmmmmmmm!

ThePennyLadyThePennyLady Posts: 4,516 ✭✭✭✭✭
Here is another batch of new pretty toned Indian cents that Todd (bluccphotos.com) just photographed for me. These have the color and toning that are my favorite, and I'm pleased that Todd's photos were able to capture their beauty! The first one (1888) is also from the Bowers & Merena auction so I posted Todd's photo and B&M's photos for more comparison.

How many more great IHC toners are out there for you to find and add to your collection?

Youre going to cause a run up on prices.

Thanks, but the prices for these pretty guys have already been "run up," believe me - I know!

Not to throw your thread of track or anything, how do you feel about the Proof IHC market right now?

Ive always wanted to form a run of them...

You think prices are coming down anytime soon?

Not for the ones that are problem-free with nice eye appeal, or the beautifully toned ones - IHC proofs like these usually still get premium prices. But I think the prices for the regular brown/red brown ones that have just average eye appeal, or are a lower grade (MS63) are a better bargain right now, if that's what you're looking for. But I think most people wouldn't be that happy with a bunch of average IHC proofs - in my experience, if you collect proofs, you probably want attractive ones without spots or hairlines. And those are the ones that you'll have to pay more for, mostly because everyone else will want those as well. Hope this helps.

Yes, it helps alot. I guess every niche in coins is similar in ways. The best and nicest coins remain strong and will always be collected. I dont mind lower graded pieces, but I want killer looks, regardless of the grade. I prefer the RB examples with some light cam and light color. The ruby reds, bright oranges, and the like really speak to me on these coins.

Your site makes me want a Proof IHC, even just one.

Todd needs a new job as a photographer for B&M, their photos bite.
