Shills to name a few 1523vally, goodniteirene, the all-star haosmark and Im sure a few I don't know about and who knows maybe a new one or two. My question whos muffin a shill or diaper lady?
  • How do you know the user names for shill bids with them being scrambled?

Apparently you must have been checking out her auctions for awhile now and have all them shill bidders memorized.

  • Jup,

Also write down PCGS and NGC label numbers watch them get listed over and over untill they get a sucker. no two numbers are the same but you know that.

  • I've watched this EBay miscreant since she was "muffinsmommi" ... btw muffin was her little white doggie and was pictured in all her auctions. In the first auction coin I saw from her (a raw Morgan) I was mesmerized by the look of the coin. Then I clicked on the "see seller's other items" link and noticed they all had the same patina. I've noticed the same type effect from a few other sellers, only to realize it was mm under a new userid. I saw one listed by 'coinscatch" earlier this week. She's definitely a piece o' defecation.

    MorgansForMe;

You are right on, but one of the shills you missed is "michy0126". I believe in "Show and Tell", so here's some of her new auctions next to the old auctions:
    new= 250440095658 old= 200338558945

    250441028096 200329996028

    250442809582 200329094806

    250443783292 190304551350

    250443815343 200336718742

What would this "new" seller be doing with coins won by the previous sellers shills?

Well, I won an auction from this NEW seller and now MIGHT have a problem(?) I could use a little help/opinions/feedback here. The won auction is 250443815343, and it was previously won by michey0126(eBay ID= 0***1) in auction 200336718742; this shill was high bidder again, until I took him/her out.... The seller wanted me to cancle the auction with this threat:

"This case has been opened by the seller with the following reason: Other reason.
Additional information provided by the seller: I provided a copy of the legal cease and desit notice to ebay legal once more just now. I've also been in contact with them. It is my belief that your intent with this purchase is to have access to
my feedback. I will contact local law enforcement in your area as well as the DA if this is the case.
I am an attorney and the tactics you use of bidding to access feedback is against ebay rules as well
as internet crime as a purchase to inflict pecuniary harm. I will follow up so stop it now."

I denied the request and answered this:

"I don't take "kindly" to threats. You have been "kicked off" of eBay several times, yet keep "popping
up" as a new seller; using your SHILLS to get higher prices for ordinary coins. You are using at least
1 new shill(michy0126); your shill won this piece in auction 200336718742(see the slab #, they are
exactly the same). It is not possible to BID on a coin, already won, unless it's SHILL BIDDING....
Your SHILL is active, see: 250445969484, 190310852320; will wonders never cease, it's the SAME!

Yes, I contacted eBay(by phone) for feedback extortion AND "shill bidding"; the extortion was addressed by eBay, but the shill bidding can't be addressed until Monday. Note that I had sent in reports for the shill bidding, but NONE were addressed; I hope that eBay will now look a little harder.... Yes, I left NEG feedback for the shill bidding and would appreciate some of this forums feedback. Oh yeah, the cease and desist order was from "canned" eBay seller muffinsmommi; it seems that she has her lawyer selling for her?

Cease and Desist order for real? Legally served on you?

    Wow.

I hope that you'll keep this thread updated.

Yeah, it was a legal order; muffy even told (my) local cops that I was a "stalker". I DID go to the police station and straightened everything out; proving to their satisfaction, that she was-is nothing but a scam artist. As I mentioned before(other muffy threads), I have hundreds of pages of documentation....

I believe you, but... prove this is not possible:

summerfreebreeze (#1) and coinscatch (#2) are two different people
    #1 sells to buyer X for $47
buyer X sells to #2 for $62 in some other forum... speaking of forum.... perhaps something like a BST forum.
seller #2 lists it and buyer X sees the same coin for less than what was just sold, so X places a bid to scalp it back for less than the sales price.
you win it from #2 by beating out buyer X

When both simple and complex answers are possible, it's always better odds to choose the simple one.
  • What's the deal with these "special lights", I've never heard of such?
  • erroiderroid Posts: 795
Yes, we live in the same state and I received the "notice" via registered mail. PCGS also got a notice, and used to KILL the threads; they didn't want any "problems". Now that Muffy is gone(kicked off of eBay), it doesn't seem to be an issue.

MsMorrisine; "I believe you, but... prove this is not possible". Dig a little deeper, you made it to complex. The shill won the the piece for $46.99; why bid $5.00 more, on something that you already owned? Of course the seller has a different name; this rogue seller has been "chucking and jiving" for over the last year: muffinsmommi became safehavencattery, became kotanos, became summerfreebreeze, became coinscratch....

Not for nothing, but this wounderful seller(sic) has revived Muffy's old shill(1523vally eBay ID= I***2 ); do an eBay "bidder search", and check out the feedback. You'll see that this old shill has won (2) auctions and is bidding on 3 more pieces(250445952896, 250444778586, 250444350996). Yeah, I reported em, but no action has been taken.

why hasn't ebay canned the shills?

sounds like if the shills are still around, then whatever proof has been offered to eBay hasn't been good enough.

perhaps they are real people living in different locations getting a cut for their efforts and are able to tell stories for explanations as above?

I've checked the bidding history on the shill you won out against.... almost all on the same seller.
Then again, I'm sure eBay has checked it as well, over the time you've been bringing it to their attention.

Why hasn't eBay canned the shills? Do you need more definitive proof? eBay certainly takes down auctions with stolen and re-used photos quickly enough. They take down fake copies when given enough proof they are truly fake and even NARU's the seller. Hmmmmm.... but these guys are still around... I just can't help but wonder if they are waiting on something more definitive than "the simpler explanation is usually correct."

That's a damned good question, and I don't KNOW the answer; if they(eBay) ban the seller(muffy and 2 clones), why not ban the shills? Here's a thought: her latest clone has the same name as her lawyer(the one who sent me "cease & desist" order). As this is insterstate fraud, how does one get a lawyer disbarred? She sent me the eBay messaging, as that lawyer.... How do I apply some heat?

    my question:
Hi, have you ever used another user ID to sell before?

    response:

<< <i>No Jesse, I have not. There are a group of rogue sellers who know I'm an attorney because I've had to send them legal papers on behalf of a client so they are trying to discredit me. If you've been contacted like some others by these three, I'd appreciate you sending me the email to show ebay what they are doing. >>

MorgansForMe and John/erroid, thanks for your tenacity in continuing to expose this "seller". Your effort is appreciated. imageimageimage
I collect history in the form of coins.

OK, eBay finally came through; not only is coinscratch GONE, but so is a brand new Muffy clone( trippjonjp ). Over the years, she has screwed MANY hundreds of bidders out of MANY thousands of dollars. Many thanks to Mike of MBcoins and Byron(MorgansFor Me), who's taking a sabical from the PCGS forum(not his choice); he asked me to pass this on: "I would love to chime in, but it seems I'm some how living in the U.S.S.R; I've been hushed".

Yes, I do expect her to try again, but eBay legal is now looking at this scam artist(HARD), and plans to continue to do so. I know that she reads this forum; so Eve, the Lawyers name that you "borrowed", and the summerfreebeze account that you hi-jacked....

  • Wow, and to think I was trashed for posting about this seller. I might not have thousands of feedbacks, but I have thousands of hours examining coins under a microscope, appraising coin collections, taking coin photos (I have a college credit for this), building and maintaining my website, etc.

I know a scam when I see one. This seller messes with their pictures, shill bids and over hypes the coins condition. I have watched this seller for years, and reported them twice. I emailed them a couple of times and was threatened and slandered. So, I did know what I was talking about.
