Would this Morgan get a bodybag? (and questions about 1878-P Morgan VAM 14.5)

Too many scratches to slab? Bodybag?

Is this 1878-P 8TF Morgan a VAM 14.5? I know several VAMs share the same reverse.

If it is a VAM 14.5, is there any value with these scratches?

An NCS "Genuine" designation would probably offer the best return.

  • so it does look like a 14.5? maybe I should use it as a pocket piece for 20 years or so to wear down the scratches.

    Yup. Body bag.

NCS will holder it with the VAM number and "Genuine" designation (no grade details) if requested. Carrying it as a pocket piece to wear down the scratches will also wear down the devices and make it less valuable in the market. It is a VAM 14.5.
