The crater on the buffalo's left shoulder sure was hidden !!!!

I liked the auction photos of the coin.... but please describe the "color" as it is in-hand.

I'm no expert on Buffalo nickels, but I would think the marks on the jaw of the obverse and the mid-shoulder of the Buffalo will keep it out of the MS65 range. Looks about MS63 - MS64 to me.

I like the first pictures better!

A friend once reminded me that anytime you buy at auction you're saying I'm willing to pay more than anyone for this item.

He also said to deduct 20% anytime you couldn't physically inspect the item.

I would find the spot on the reverse, which is shown well in the seller's image, to be annoying to the degree that I would not buy such a generic dated coin. However, the absolute dollar amount wasn't all that high, but it was still too much, in my opinion.
