there's a cop in Ohio that may do you a favor and pick it up for you, no?
  • raysrays Posts: 2,424 ✭✭✭✭✭
Maybe I could convince CoinCop to pick it up. Kind of far, though.

Why the concern over receiving the coin? His feedback is flawless.

I don't see the concern either. Are you planning to bid on it and just trying to spook the competition? --Jerry

    1. Most of the feedback is from the last month and for small $ items
    2. No eBay buyer protection, no paypal

Yes but the buyers seem to be getting their coins. Your concern is that the seller could be setting up the big coins on ebay now with some cheap coins that were actually delivered...

Lots of sellers here on the forum don't take paypal. I prefer non-paypal on large purchases and some of my auctions don't take it. If at all worried I might ask the seller about an escrow account.

I also checked the cert number and it is valid. This is the may daughter's birthyear minus 200 and this is a relatively affordable grade so I'm tempted. Since I'm actually interested I'm taking your cautionary comments seriously.

At least one of them sold for $550.

send the seller a message, asking if it can be picked up in person.

Reading how paypal is refusing to allow sellers access to the sellers own money, how can you blame them for not using it.

I wouldn't allow that for a coin I was legitimately selling on eBay.

I suspect you would get the coin, but FWIW look at his other coins. Note the half dime obviously plugged at the top that is not mentioned, and the bust half listed as "high Grade" that I suspect may have been whizzed.

That half dime (look at the "BE"):

And the Bust half referenced above looks....dead. Utterly lifeless.

Still, at least with this particular large cent, assuming you get it, having it in a PCGS holder does provide some level of protection for the buyer. I wouldn't touch this seller's raw stuff with a thirty foot pole.

New seller, no paypal, no return policy, no buy from me.

    Plus his pictures stink.
