    Are those scratches in the reverse field? Along the horizon?

    They appear to be die scratches. Here's a graded one on Ebay for a comparison...

    Nice pickup and image! I had a hard time trying to get a good image of mine. The marks are as minted as you can see, my example (NGC MS65) has them too.
