1880-S VAM 19 Morgan with clashed letters and a pitted reverse - is this NEW?
From the tripled 'S' mint mark and raised areas in the upper loop of the first 8, this looks like a VAM 19.
The tail feathers also have raised areas that look like a pitted die.
There are polishing lines all over the coin. It looks like an attempt to remove clash marks, but some are still visible.
There appears to be some clashed letters in the hair vee.
What do you think? Is there a clashed version of the 80-S 19? Is this the first 80-S with clashed transfered letters?
What's cool (IMO) is that there should be a clashed version BEFORE this polishing.
