President dollars, first lady coins - when first pet coins?

WillieBoyd2WillieBoyd2 Posts: 5,269 ✭✭✭✭✭
When do we get coins with "first pets"?

What about King Timahoe (Nixon's dog) or Socks (Clinton's cat)?

Or those two beagles which Lyndon Johnson picked up by their ears?

I think that might have appeal to younger collectors ?

kick out a 1/10 gold "pet" coin when that particular president's $1 coin is in production.

why do coins have to be so fuddernucking serious all the time !?!??!
    they're just pieces of metal.

And with James Buchanan, our bachelor president, have his adminitration be sidestepped ofr the First Lady series? Or will it have a blank central device ot perhaps his fist?

This first lady idea is nonsense. With few exceptions, their contribution to our heritage is picking out White House dinnerware patterns.

A First Lady is not a pet (except for Jackie)!

A first pet series would probably be more popular than the first lady series. In more that a few cases, it would be difficult to tell what series a particular coin should be part of.

Man..... when I saw First Pet for some reason I was expecting something along the lines of a Clinton - Monica coin......

    LOL

Hey, don't give the Mint more ideas like this. They have enough issues coming out the way it is.

very interesting...President Washington was very big on I believe Bloodhounds and owned for 35 of them....he predated the Registry and heard he kept wonderful records on his dogs........

IMHO...I would rather see the pets than the presidents on a $1 coin and think it would do much better with the public

Lionel: You can get snoopy on a mint product...Charles Shultz was honored with a congressional medal of honor a few years ago--the whole Peanuts cast was on the reverse. Bet you could find it in copper somewhere on the mint's site, or by calling the mint.
