Volunteer needed to start 1809 Capped Bust Half informative thread---to cover for banned member

mozinmozin Posts: 8,755 ✭✭✭
General guidelines:

1. Members can simply post pictures, or include pertinent information like Overton marriage
and diagnostics, or just ask for information about their pictured coin from other members.
Please keep picture file sizes within reason for dial up members.

2. Ultimately, we would like to see at least one example pictured for each Overton marriage.

3. Thread starts are only on Thursdays and Sundays.

HERE IS THE LINK TO THE OTHER THREADS (updated by CoinAddict): YOU CAN POST TO THESE THREADS ANYTIME...IT'S NEVER TOO LATE!!!image

I have 1 CBH and it's an 1825 so I'd be happy to take that date off your list and start a thread....I think I even know the overton number of my example. My camera is on the fritz a bit and seems to only want to take black and white type photos (I dropped it)....but I should be able to capture nice crisp details etc?

I can't edit your list Mozin, but DNADave told me a couple days ago that he would cover the 1825 (sorry kryptonitecomics). Maybe you two guys can PM each other and see who should cover it.

Great JRocco, I will edit the list. Looks like November is almost covered.image

Notice I brought dizzyfoxx's Bustie thread up to the top. I inadvertently deleted four of my picture post pictures, so I needed to relist them. There are a number of collectors interested in Bust Halves that have not given us their input yet.

    Coinaddict,

Thanks for starting the only year date that did not manage a volunteer to start it.image

I hope the volunteers for the remaining threads are not banned, or boycotting CU. So far, only one member has indicated he is banned. I am holding his place for him in hopes he will be reinstated in time to start his thread.

My next Capped Bust Half Dollar thread to start is 1817---and it is more than ready to go!image

Due to recent banning on CU, we now need a replacement thread starter for 1809 CBH. If anyone wants it, please post here, or PM me.

So far, the rest of the mint years are covered. There have been postings from 80 CU members so far.

Please make note that the 1811 Capped Bust Half Dollar thread is postponed to start 1/15/07. This should give you all more time to get your coins ready to show off.

We still need someone to start 1809 on 1/14/07.

There was some talk about continuing the Bust Half Dollar series down through the Draped marriages. I have only two specimens, so I would not be able to start anything on the Draped series.

Anyone interested in starting the next series?

Absolutely! I'll be happy to help. I believe Nysoto already volunteered to host at least one year, as well.

Nysoto appears to have volunteered to start 1806, the only year in which I can input coin pictures.

Thanks for offering to start and coordinate YOUR new Draped series. I hope to learn a lot by reading the DBH threads. My hands are busy with the ongoing CBH series, so I cannot offer to coordinate the Draped series.

Perhaps you should start a new thread on YOUR upcoming Draped Bust Half Dollar series, setting up the program, and asking for volunteers to start years.
