You got it Pharmer, I have found at least 10 of every other variety I searched for, but this always escaped me. I beleive the die was found to be damaged in early production and thus removed. There are some in mint state, they bring huge money when up for sale. I have seen 2 for sale 1 I purchased and the other is a MS-66 in an NGC holder that another board member owns. This is a sleeper variety due to its scarce apperences.
Congrats. I had to go to the CONEVA variety master listings to see if there was mention of the die break, since cherrypickers doesn't mention it.
Your are quite a prolific variety finder. This may be your Holy Grail, but the many 1949d/s', in such high quality, is the best cherrypick I've ever heard of.

Yeah Pharmer, I loved that roll of 1949-D nickels,(that was me too) 16 BU D/S is holy grail number 1 of mine, gonna be hard to top that. That only happens a few times in life, but this is a huge find for me, the D/S are kind of a lost cause now, I have so many, but this sucker has been hiding for so long. Next step cherry a MS one!
I wish I had known about this when I was helping my local dealer to condense 40 Jefferson collections into about 20 this last weekend. I would have been watching for it.
As it was, I found a VF 42 D/ horizontal D and a warnickel with about a 10% clip.
yellow jacket, great find on the 42 d/d, I stopped submitting them to PCGS and built a roll of 42 D/D horizontals, best I have is AU-50, which I bought, best ever made was several XF-40's.

Great find, ar18. Go Aggies!
yellowjacket: Nice find on the 1942-D/horiz. D. BTW, if you want to sell the 1930-D ime you find a while back, PM me as I'll pay a lot for this one.
Gemineye: There are several Sac varieties people are looking for, the biggie is the 2000-P Enhanced Tail Feathers i.e. the Cheerios variety.
Congrats to all!
